Boy do I feel like a knuckle-head. I had a bit of corrosion on my connecting cables to my battery that once was cleaned off, everything works perfectly again! LOL. Lesson learned. We can close this thread down now.
...thanks...all that you suggested is above my pay grade and I have yet to see if the fuse is blown or what the heck is going on. I appreciate everyone's help in trouble shooting and sorry for jumping the gun a couple of months...but I will dig into this in January, hopefully! You all are awesome!
Thanks for the trouble shooting tips. It is not powering up at all....so that's the first place I will check. Need to get an ohmmeter...as suggested. My antenna is fixed mounted with a Gamaviti hood mount option. No Coax near the exhaust. I am in the middle of a move, so it will be a month...
Out of the blue, my HAM radio stopped working after having it work flawlessly for 8 years. I don't use it all that often, so it's not "worn out." I have not yet checked the in-line fuse, but is this common for radios to die unexpectedly? Sorry I don't have more details, as I have not yet had...
Lots of great suggestions for you from others on this already, so I won't repeat. Nix the trailer hitch cargo tray. I know several people that have plastic tubs, coolers and tarps melt back there due to the exhaust hitting it just a few inches a way. The more food prep you can do ahead of...
I'm giving away a FREE Outer Limit Supply first aid kit (5000 series) on Instagram...go to @realemergencydata and follow the instructions to get registered to win!
Tons of great hikes in Jefferson CO, near Golden CO. Golden Gate State Park. The Galbraith trail is a nice 5 mile loop. Eldorado Canyon is popular for climbing, south of Boulder. There's a few suggestions to keep you busy for a few days.
HAM Radios work way better than CB's, but you do need license to operate them! Many of the trail leaders and gunners have both and several rigs have them each year! Much clearer comms for sure! If you don't have a license you can always listen, but you can't respond, unless it's an emergency...
Maybe this will help someone else out there or at least make you smile!
As I have educated my wife, and now 3 adult kids, that all vehicles are machines, and all machines need periodic maintenance and repairs. Which come with an expense from time to time. Plan for it.
I recently rolled...
Please learn from my experience this week. I went to my regular car wash, where I ALWAYS remove my HAM antenna and place it inside my vehicle. I have done this dozens of times, without any problems.
Unfortunately, one of their employees decided to go above the call of duty and tried to put...
My son sent me a photo today and the light that is now on is yellow that says OFF, that is under the LO, (from the Hi N LO) column of options. This has never shown up previously....and it's so odd that all of a sudden it has come on! It still drives just fine obviously...just a new electrical...
Thanks for the insights everyone...I have not seen a photo of what lights are coming on and off...so I have sent your responses to my son to further diagnose and try to figure out! I appreciate your comments and help!
I bought my son a GX 470 and removed the air bags, replaced with OME shock and a lift, cut the switch for the height adjustments a three years ago. Last week he started getting the Air Bags "off" light going on and off randomly. This has never happened previously. What are your thought as to...
