My replacement steering box for my 1969 FJ40 came with a 36 spline shaft. My 33 spline steering wheel won't work, so I am looking for a 36 spline replacement. Any help would be appreciated,
What is the correct thread size on the steering box worm gear ( the shaft that connects the steering wheel to the steering box ). I had a worn out box in my 3/69 FJ40 and I replaced it with a rebuilt box that was supposed to be for a 3/69 FJ40. Problem is, when I tried to put my 1969 steering...
Replaced my POS MAF steering box with a Marks Off-Road rebuild. Took three pitman arm pullers, a new adapter for the steering wheel( larger splines on the new box) but it's all done and all good.
The pump said 70% ethanol. Even at 87 degrees today the temp gauge didn't get above the first mark. Idle isn't as smooth as it used to be but on the move it accelerates nicely w/o knock.
I have a Weber 38 that seems to be running rich. Just to see what would happen, on the last fill-up I tanked up with a mix of E85 and 87 octane. The mix was 2/3 87. The FJ starts up and runs fine but I was wondering what the long term affects will be on the fuel pump, fuel lines, and so on. 2F...
In Indiana you can run a year of manufacture plate if you have a historical vehicle plate. You also need to have an antique vehicle inspection done and carry both the paper work and the historical plate in the rig at all times. I have a 1969 plate on my 1969.
Filled out the correct paper work, filed the right forms with the BMV and I now have a 1969 year of manufacture 1969 license plate to go with my 1969 FJ

95% of my travel is on road. I've been told that the Holley is easier to tune and figured a four barrel would yield better h/p. I wouldn't mind an Aisin carb w/o emission hardware to get back to more stock.
Is anyone running the Offenhauser dual-port intake? I've seen a couple of them on ebay and Egge sells them new. Not real happy with my weber 38 and was thinking about making the switch to a Holley with this intake.
