That's pretty much the impression I get...the light's on well above the E line. The light in the FJ80 I used to have would come on well below the line and still have 5gal left.
Well, thanks all. Until next time...
Hey all,
First, I did mud search and google site: search before posting (hopefully I don't just suck at both).
Next, the question: How much fuel is in the tank (3.4/man/4wd) when the dummy light comes on?
I checked the owner's manual, and I think the tank capacity is 18gal (about 68L...
When you hit the switch, you can hear a buzz in the rear hatch area, but that's it. No movement up or down. (The buzz lasts as long as you're pressing on the switch.)
Seems almost like the window wants to move, but doesn't.
I figure the buzz means:
1) The switch up front isn't broken...
Will this be essentially the same (location/appearance/etc.) on a '91? (I'm assuming you have something newer, because it seems everyone else does :-) )
I got my '91 with 247k on the clock for $2500 (in excellent overall condition minus the tires)...If you can get them lower, do it, but think of what you could buy with $3500 (like a quad or something ridiculous) and then realize you're only paying 3 grand or so for an entire vehicle (presumably)...
Thanks, everybody...I think I don't disagree with rove necessarily (could've just been lots of weight); but the unknown age makes me wonder (like it seems to have caused some of you to do).
Perhaps a good excuse to set in on that lil' lift/suspension upgrade... :D
Seeking opinions--
Generally I ride alone in my rig (so, light-weight). Recently I took it on a trip with 5 other guys and enough gear each for one overnight (so, I'm still thinking relatively light-weight, as things could go...right?). Along the highway, though, anytime there was...
Well, I'm up for a proper/correct EL run at some point in the near future (read: 3wks or more from now), along with anywhere else that my 31" tire-having 80 can handle
Do this from staging area:
1) LEFT path toward Fordyce/Eagle Lakes trail
2) Go LEFT At first fork (currently has one metal sign with no paint, and one wooden sign with green and orange marking paint all over it--neither sign offers help)
3) You'll get to a kind of T/fork in the trail...
The entrance to both Fordyce and Eagle Lakes trails is on the LEFT. (Also, GO LEFT at the NEXT fork, a few minutes down the trail, if you don't want your stock rig attempting Fordyce!!) Also, some cute lil' stock-rig flexin' haha
