I've owned the truck for 18 years, had professionals do repairs, replaced with OEM when needed, and generally babied her. Never wheeled! I have had some great trips, but life is different now and she needs to keep on truckin' with a new Cruiser Head. Here are some details on the major stuff...
I'm going to sell my 86, located in Medford. It's the gun-metal grey color scheme. Asking $9,950. I would like to do a compression test down here due to my schedule. Pix here: http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=0AaN2bNs2ZsWjFeg
Here's a list of what I've done in the past 18...
I purchased a Hygrade kit based on previous posts, for a rebuild done by a local mechanic. The performance is now below average; it seems hesitant. Would the jets have anything to do with this? Mixture?
Hello JSC! My name is Derek, I live in Medford and I've got an 86 FJ60 that I've been pampering for about 16 years.
I'd like to get in the loop on outings that are planned and communicate with other CruiserHeads; please add my address to the feed: provoice@woolybuggerproductions.com...
Not to hijack the thread, but I'm going to 'upgrade' to 488 gearing on my 86 FJ60, and have some questions, with this caveat: after reading a bit on this, I've confirmed that I need some "hand holding", cuz I'm just not mechanically minded but willing to learn.

I was up at Crater Lake for a snowshoeing day and saw this amazing rig in the parking lot. I wanted to talk more with the driver - but his English was really poor and I felt like it wasn't a good time to try and communicate.
Anyway, the rig was SICK.
Wanna read more about him? I found this...
I'm at am impasse on what to do now. I don't have the ability to rebuild the engine - here's the report:
Stock 2F Engine in 86 FJ60: #2 Compression - 100 psi. #4 Compression - 0. Cylinder leak - 95% out of crankcase and valves.
I have 253K on the motor. No local mechanics want to...
Thanks for that info! Mine has a spinning bottom section- I guess that's the"ring"? It's the same diameter as the canister itself. I'll plug the switched hose. Got a 75 mile road trip ahead - I hope this worked!
