running the pipe straight back will pull all the exhaust right back in - it HAS to go out behind the rear tire

[also, the closer the exhaust comes out behind the tire, the more hassle the emissions guys will give you, as they will have to finagle the sniffer...
have you looked at the adjustment of your steering stops ? - tire rubbing may give a rhythmic sound [I call that "pseudo-birf" - mostly encountered in downhill steering on my 40]
adjusting the steering stop to keep the tire more inside might help

I buy bushings from them as well for the frame-side, and for the spring-side, I buy from Skyjacker - which happens to be the manufacturer of the springs on my 40; if your springs are by a different manufacturer, buy the bushings from...
I kept the split bench - "spring mattress" is what hubby calls it :lol:
I just tell people it's how the ruck came from the factory - I do have a suspension driver seat for myself :p
to prevent the "sliding" that Living in the Past mentions, a previous owner of my truck had added 3-point seat...
what does the other side of the axle look like ? - is it possible the plates were installed on the wrong side ?
the shackle hangers seem to be quite short, just sayin'
I admit, I never even looked at mine - it has worked since I got the truck :meh:
