As @voodu3 mentioned, the illumination to the shifter and the O/D button are wired together. So if you have power to the O/D bulb then you probably have a broken wire to the shifter.

i started to turn some aluminum nuts in my lathe then it occurred to me that Mister T must have a reason for plastic. My guess is that if you stomp on a metal nut with enough force you deform the bolt , which would be hard to replace... so I ended up using delrin. My reasoning is it is better...

The Blue-White wire that runs through the BM1 connector is the wire that provides power to the rear heater blower fan. I did the same as Jon mentioned, tapping into this as the power source for my seat heaters
