So you've got it figured out what a '93 HDJ81 needs for fusible links, as shown above? I never did get around to getting you pics of mine, but I'm ready to buy if you've got the details from elsewhere!
These can be mounted sideways as well as upright, if I was doing it over again I'd go with a side mount to make the exhaust routing easier.

The dual stage mechanical injectors in these engines make a lot of racket, there was nothing unusual sound-wise in either video that I could pick up on.
Can you post a pic where you can see down the side of the truck to see where the tires sit within the fender flares? Like a couple steps to either side, lol?

I believe the "spool" replaces the viscous coupler, which is separate from the center diff, but still within the transfer case. Viscous coupler acts like a LSD for the center diff when unlocked.
Boost compensators came on factory boosted engines, like the 1HD-T. 1HZ's did have an altitude compensator in it's place on certain models, which might be what you've seen.
Most people put them here on the 1HD-T's. I installed mine on the engine, drilled with a 90 degree drill until just about to break through, then greased the drill bit tip and started the engine so there was positive pressure in the manifold to blow swarf out and get caught in the grease.
