I wouldn't say they were hard to push back, but couldnt necessarily do it with my fingers either. The rig has 130k on it, and I don't have a record (PO gave me a file folder full) of the calipers ever being touched.
Hi, I just did my front brakes (all OEM parts) new rotors, and pads. Everything works great, BUT at about 10 +/- mph, it is making an annoying squeel. Anyideas? I greased the shims and pins, thought it was better, but it came back. ANyideas greatly appreciated!

We have a '96 Cruiser, and I think I would rather invest the money in having it converted to diesel than getting rid of it and purchasing one of the Diesel SUV's on the market. So my question (well wife's concerns) what should we expect to pay if we were to have someone do the swap, and once...
anything in the transmission itself that anyone can think of? like a bearing in some sort of pump? I will check the exhaust behind the Cats, hope its that easy. NEW thing I noticed is that it doesn't do it when its cold? It is driving my wife mad, ALL HELP greatly appreciated..
thanks for all of the help, I torqued it to 43lbs, and backed it off, and than tightened the second locknut to it, I will check this week after it gets a few miles. What are the indicators if it is not set right? What will it do? Want to make sure the wife is aware and able to recognize if...
I have never repacked and set a front wheel bearing tightness. How much grease? And how do I know that it is tight enought, but not too tight on the 54mm axle nut?? THANK YOU

doesn't change with RPM, I will check as it may go away as the RPM's increase. Only happens when the truck is not in gear. It sounds very buzzy, not real mechanical.. Hard to describe.. It happened prior to the 120k service, and continues to..
Would love to get a second opinion (ok any opinion) on a BUZZING noise that our '96 Cruiser is making. I first thought it was the heat shields under the passenger side, as it sounds like that is where the noise is coming from, but after getting under there and applying pressure and poking...
I am going to attempt the front brakes on our '96 landcruiser this weekend, pads, rotors and a fluid flush. Any surprises or special tools needed? Also seems alot of guys are using the 100 series front pads. Anybody give me the pros and cons of the 100 pads over the 80's?? Thanks in advance...
Baran,
I too am a mountain biking fiend, you got yourself a great mt. biking rig. What kind of riding are you into? I work in the industry, let me know if I can ever help Cruiser or bike wise...

My '96 cruiser is making that schwish schwish schwish noise that sounds like it is the bearing on the waterpump? I am a BMW (Inline 6 family:bounce: ) guy this is my wifes rig. Is it something I should be looking at replacing the waterpump soon? Our 4runner made the same noise, and the dealer...
I am in Seattle area, but only been back for a short period of time with the Cruiser. I was in Portland, there are some GREAT Cruiser specialists down there, maybe one of us should call them and find out..

Ok, so pulled the rack off today to find that half the nutserts pulled out of the roof. I tried to search on this problem but didn't seem to find anything specific? What has everyone else done to solve this problem? My wife likes the rack so removing it all together at this point is not an...
