315/75r16. Hoping to keep the same size from when it was SOA. I drilled the perches to move the axle 1” further forward and it looks like I should have sufficient clearance.
I am in the process of swapping my 60 to SUA. When I purchased it years ago it already had a SOA that was apparently cut and turned. I’ve wanted to lower the suspension for years as it is way too high for my liking and I don’t even like wheeling with it as it is too unstable. I started the...
I am looking for everything you might have taken off to do a SOA on your rig. Steering arms and links, spring plates. Let me know what you have. I'm in Pennsylvania
Just seeing this reply now, looks like it might be worth a try to redo mine similar to this to see if it helps me as much as you. Any idea why my fuel pressure would have jumped to 90psi with the engine running, it drops back to 60psi on the gauge when the engine is off.
I read in a different...
It had bilsteins when I purchased it and felt too soft. Swapped them to adjustable rancho9000 and turned them to the stiffest setting. Didn’t really help. I think it would need stiffer springs. But that would add even more height, which I don’t want. Mine are Stock leaves with an add a leaf...
I’ve had stock 60s on 33s and this SOA 60 on 35s and honestly jumping back into a stock SUA 60 the handling feels like a race car in comparison. The SOA truck is very tippy, however I drove it on a 5k road trip around the country without issue hitting trails in Colorado and Utah. I’ve being...
The PO that did the vortec swap in my cruiser used a fuel pump mounted on the frame rail and braided lines with AN fittings. I’ve had issues with it since owning it now for almost 5 years to the point it gave up on me climbing mountain passes in co. I swapped the fuel pump in a parking lot and...
I’ll have to look into this. I did have fuel overflow out the gas cap while on a trail once. The gas cap didn’t really seal well back then. I got a big rubber gasket for it and it seals much better now but I was still confused why gas came out the filler neck.
It’s a 2007 motor/trans
I might just change out the thermostat to rule that out as a possibility.
I’ll check out the hose routing and make sure that’s all plumbed correctly.
The pump runs at 60 psi all the time except when it seems to vapor lock. Which is rare but annoying. If I’m on tha...
So I haven’t been on the forum much lately. Made a big move and opened a new business and the 60 was on the back burner. But I’m trying to get it sorted now to get it back on the road.
I have a few issues at the moment one being a leak from the power steering. I thought it was coming from the...
I replaced the pump and filters with Walbro in a parking lot. Seems to be working better but it still gets louder the longer I drive. Doesn't get as loud or hot as the Holley. Just did mosquito pass without any issues.
Are the connections universal or would I end up needing adapters of some sort? Is there a reason it would be quiet at the beginning of the day and get louder the longer I drive?
I'm currently in Denver and my fuel pump is soooo loud and has sputtered out a few times. It felt hot to the touch and I soaked it in cold water and it will start back up again but I doubt it will last much longer. Do I need to replace it with the exact same pump or can I find a suitable...
I am getting my readings from a scan gauge II. I had tried putting it in park and it didn't seem to cool at all, I'll try neutral next time to see if that works. Just made it to Fort Collins. It did fine crossing the mountains on pavement. Tranny maxed out at 197 and dropped to 175 coming...
I have an aluminum radiator with an electric fan. I consider the engine temp overheating when it gets to around 210 and the tranny about the same.
The tranny hit 221 going up the mountain last night and I shut it off and waited 20 minutes for it to cool enough to make some more progress. Took...
Ill have to check codes. But should the engine water pump / thermostat issue have anything to do with the transmission overheating? I didn't think they were really linked.
I found the transmission lines are going to a small transmission cooler right behind the grill. Not to the regular...
