    80 series wheel question

Just realized how crappy the pic of the chrome rims look. I'll get a better tomorrow in the daylight, but the markings are the same.

    80 series wheel question

OK, the back of the polished looks like this: Chrome: The markings on the back are identical between the two, I did notice the front doesn't have "Toyota" or the size stamped on them, they are totally smooth chrome. The Polished rim does have this... Thanks for the help.

    80 series wheel question

Hey guys, asking this here as I figured 80 series guys would know! I picked up a set of rims from a 97 last weekend for my 4Runner. Three of them are chrome, and one of them is the polished (Believe it was the spare of the truck they came off of). I've been looking around trying to see if I...

    New to me Pop-up trailer

Thats a steal at 100 bucks. I must say though, I've never seen a trailer plug like that though. Could the other 2 pins have been used to charge a battery while towing?

    ???2000 4runner oil choice at 125k???

Yup, the 4 runner has a screen instead of a filter, you really shouldn't have to worry about that. When I change my tranny fluid in the taco and the runner, I just drain what I can out of it and refill. That way I'm always blending in new fluid. Thank someone at Toyota, they put in a drain plug...

    ???2000 4runner oil choice at 125k???

Yea, you can always tell a taco or 4runner that's just had the oil changed and not pulled the skidplate off. It always "marks" its territory!

Can I swap 15 inch tires to my 2001 4runner?

Hmm, didn't know that. I'll have to measure on both my rigs next time I have the wheels off.

    ???2000 4runner oil choice at 125k???

The skid plate shouldn't take that long to get off, 12MM socket and extension, and pull 5 bolts up front and 2 on the back and remove the front and back skids as an assembly. To get that stupid oil filter out, (why in the heck did Toyota put it there?), Take a long extension, a, swivel, and an...

    brakes question

Check out www.trdparts4u.com. I always get a better price on stuff from them. What I usually do is print out there prices and take them down to my local dealership, they will give me "internet" pricing on my parts. The best breaks I have run on my taco, and I've run many different pads, are...

    ???2000 4runner oil choice at 125k???

I just got a 96 4 runner with 160K on the clock and was in the same boat as you. In my older vehicles I've always mixed a quart of Synthetic oil with the conventional oil. I just keep same brands together. This way I get some of the benifits of Syn. (This is basically what you buy in the store...

    Rear Drive Shaft

No way, that should be a 2 piece or 3 joint rear drive shaft with the carrier bearing right there. Wander what the heck they put in there? Did you check the FSM for pictures?

Can I swap 15 inch tires to my 2001 4runner?

I believe that year runner had the same size brakes as the taco's. If they do then they should fit. I've seen 4 runners with 15's and 16inch wheels. Best bet is to just put one on the front and see if it clears the caliper and rotor.

    shocks

I've done a few of these, and they aren't that bad. Just rent the spring compressor from Vato Zone, put each tool on each side of the spring and work the compressors down evenly until the spring is loose in the strut. Replace the shock and whatever else your messing with and then undo the spring...
