3 speed output shaft 10 splines , 9'' long 4 speed output shaft 16 splines, 12'' long I did a complete rebuilt on my 3 speed 2 years ago. It's easy and cheap. It all depends on how many gears needs to be changed. To go from 3 to 4 speed tranny, you must change the bellhousing, clutch , have...

    idle solenoid questions

Now I know I have 2 problems ::) I think the solenoid is good. The wire is probably cut somewhere. I still have to find why it's so hard to start. The tune up is done with Toyota parts. I have a feeling my fuel tank is full of crap. I changed my filter not long ago but it looks like I need to...

Dash ? for Landcruiser historians, 77 to 78

The top hole is for the brake/seatbelt on late models (saw it on a 1980 cruiser) . the bottom hole is for the 4wd light indicator for the vacuum t-case (I got it on my 71 :flipoff2: )

can i get some opinions on this 40

Nope... the early t-case is a lot louder than the later ones. It has something to do with the shape of the gears. The good part is that you can go from 2wd to 4wd without stopping, just by pulling a switch. I can also put my t-case in Low with 2wd. I don't have locking hubs in the front but some...

knuckledragger, the lever with the round handle is the hi/lo shifter. This is a cruiser with vacuum transfer case.Works great.

    help identifying parts

Your bellhousing is probably for the SM420 GM 4speed. The Toyota 3 speed and the SM420 have the same bolt pattern. I think the only difference is the input shaft. This is why you have an adapter plate. I don't have any idea of it's value but it can be made easily in a machine shop ... When you...
