Thank you! I really hate to sell it, but with two kids under 10- it’s just not being driven much. Eventually I’ll be facing you’re current predicament!

Build thread with lots of details and pics.
$21,500 OBO.
Mileage is unknown. Odometer shows mileage since SBC was installed decades ago. There are lots of details in the build thread and some items done that aren’t in there.

Known issues-
Engine uses a slight bit of oil and leaks a slight bit too.
Engine runs between 200-215. Never boiled over. SBC forums seem split on whether this is good or bad. Engine runs strong. Has RV CAM installed.
Some minor rust in wheel wells and driver front floor. They have not worsened...
Details- 1974 FJ40 with 1975 SBC400.
4 speed transmission and TC out of 1980 FJ40- rebuilt. Considerably less TC whine and easier shifting than stock setup.
Has the older style SBC adapter, so shifters are right at the heater. No issues with it.
Downey low profile clutch.

Going to possibly put the 40 on the market soon. Just don’t have time to drive it anymore!
Any ideas on where fair market value would be? I’ll list all upgrades, issues, etc later on when I get some time. Located in NC now.
Do you still use a voltage regulator or is your alternator internally regulated? Before I switched to the internally regulated alternator, I had a time where my lights would brighten or dim when accelerating or decelerating. It was a bad voltage regulator. I now have a painless wiring harness...
Well good to know for this winter! One of the po's must have added a gasket/seal before. When I first took the top off, it was ripped apart. So I made one. This will certainly make it easier to put the top back on!
In this image, part 14 is the visor. Is there not a gasket or strip of some kind that sits between the visor and the front of the WS frame (attached to the inside of the visor)? The part listed before sits between the hardtop and the top of the WS frame.
I have that part number. It sits on top of the frame. I'm referring to the visor that sits flush against the front, not top of the windshield frame and is bolted to the front WS frame via 4 bolts. Is there not any kind of stripping or gasket between the front WS frame and the visor?
No- that sits on top of the WS frame. I'm talking about the one that goes on the visor that gets bolted to the front of the windshield frame with four bolts.
Took my hardtop off recently and the weatherstrip I made for the visor ripped apart after becoming sticky and adhering to the windshield frame. I used some garage door rubber to make that one. Time to make another!
What are others using? I assume they are no longer available in OEM form...
BYW- thermostats are another subject that varies greatly. Some saying run 160, some 180, some 195 and some none at all. Mine seems to manage better at 195. I've run all three at one time or another!
