Dont know why, but after 40 years my '71 had the original metal fan on the F engine, so I decided to put a Toyota 5 blade on. Still can't figure out why I did it. The original fan is perfect, no cracks, dents, etc.. Such is life with an FJ40!

My stock '71 has the split hood and floor 3 speed....and front two section bench. The 3 speed was originally on the floor. It is a soft top version with full tailgate. It is a mid year '71 so it might be that there were options for column or floor shifter? Or maybe the softtop version came...

A word from someone who has been there........check to MAKE SURE YOUR DISTRIBUTOR IS FULLY SEATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And triple check it......and do that before you run your engine again! Without a fully seated distributor, you will surely freeze up your engine...no oil pressure.
