Trying to get an old Honda EG 1400 running after sitting with gas in it for some time. Cleaned the tank and went through the carb, replacing the soft parts and made sure the jet was clear. The problem I'm having is it starts, runs for a couple seconds then dies. Any ideas?

I think the the smog stuff has green connectors and you should be able to do away with all that. Get a good wiring diagram to help you label every thing else.
The 6 cyl doesn't have enough power to overcome the parasitic loss of the auto. Autos are easier on other drivetrain parts if you have the power (V8) to back it up.
Transfer case exits on the wrong side for the front axle. It's also centered so the rear driveshaft will be off set. Look at adapters for the automatic and make it easy on yourself.
