I built mine out of 3.16 by 2 inches wide flat stock with a round piece of 2 by 3-8 inch welded to the bottom that sits in the gutter to keep it from digging in.
Its 6 feet long and I have carried 400 lbs on it with no issues.NOT wheeling but damn near.....The roads here suck.
So do I ! A 15 year old Kelty. I wouldn´t trade it for any of the new outerspace crap.
I get to check out all sorts of backpacks that tourists bring with them.
Most are junk. Cool looking, junk with adjustable everything
Go over to trailjournals dot com and look up a user named postcard and read his story.
Hés a guy I knew back when I lived in the empyre. mid 40´s, 6 foot, maybe 200 lbs.
It´ll give you some ideas for sure.
He is probably another broke azz fool that used his house as an ATM machine. Carry 6 C´notes over and tell him to load it in the truck. Rent a bottle from the local supply house.
Hi guys. Living down here in nowhere land I´m impatiently waiting for my service manuals to arrive.
Could someone please post the oil'grease volumes for a 76 FJ.
Differentials, 4speed, transfer case.
It´ll take me several days to get the synthetic so I don´t want to order too little.
Thanks.
Doug
I´ve had a plate of diamondplate bolted on top of a Ford tool body for 35 years. Nothing in between but factory paint. SoFlo truck. No problem.
Dissimilar metal contact is more of a marine environment issue.
So is everyone else. All I can find here is passenger side springs.
It´s not rocket science to make one tho ! Go to brownells dot com and order a bit of spring steel rod stock. Make one yourself.
It will come in handy for many things.
58 mph huh............... I havent gone that fast in years ...
Hi guys. Noobie here from costa rica.
I´ve got a real clean BJ40 but it isnt going to stay that way driving to my farm.
I adressed the front and back by building proper bumpers with brush guards but the rear quarters need to be covered up so they don´t get scratched up and get cancer.
Who makes...
