I may be listing my 97 40th due to a pending move and a small oil leak that I don't have time to mess with right now. It is factory everything for the most part with a rebuilt engine and 255,000 miles (20k on rebuilt) and runs great. Leather is in good shape with only the driver's seat showing...
I agree on the voltage. I've heard all the other options considered and tried to no avail...I have not seen where anyone has gone after what seems to be a voltage issue. Has anyone tested at the motor to see what voltage it is actually getting to compare it to what it should be?
There are two hoses that run from the throttle body to the vacuum modulator...they connect to a metal elbow plug. Pull the plug and clear the pin sized hole with a needle. This took care of my problem. This was after I changed out the VSV, vac modulator, EGR and other hoses. I only pulled...
Engine light came on this morning and pulled the code to reveal P0501. Everything seems to be operating normally. Should I be worried about getting stranded? What should I do to troubleshoot? Would this in anyway affect the cruise control?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Kirk, I got it pulled out and put it on a 12V source and the servo spun but there was never any hard stop hit. It did not spin the upper gears (removed cap and verified). When I switched polarity, the motor did not operate. Looks like I need to dig deeper to see why the upper gears are not...
Kirk, wow, that is a bunch of good information. I have not used my soldering iron in 7 years or more when I was working for Applied Materials. I'm not sure when I am going to get a chance this week to get a battery and a couple of wires to check, but I will definitely do it as soon as I can.
Argh! Fixed the wire and reset ECU and still get the blinking light. Here's hoping you and I have the same issue cause I get the feeling you are persistent enough to figure this out. Just hope it's not an expensive fix.
Does pulling the fuses reset the ECM or is there something else that needs to be done to do this? I'm hoping that I found my problem. Red wire with green stripe going to the actuator was severed...anyone know what this wire is? Going to put a butt connector on it and try to clear the faults...
Kirk, keep me posted on any of your findings because I am having the same issues with my 97 LC. I have run all the tests and they have all checked out OK. I have not done the jumper test yet, but from what you have described, it sounds as though I would get the same code as you. Likewise I...
Lots of good information...has anyone used the PLX Kiwi? I believe that is the route I think that I might go. There were quite a few reviews online with only a couple of them negative. If there is any experience from a fellow mudder, that would be excellent.
