Hey guys I need to get the upper half of my hatch off and go the body shop for some rust tlc. But I'm having some trouble fishing the wire harness through the grommet. I've manged to pull one connector through and disconnect 2 wires, but there are more and I can't feel any other connectors...

    Troubleshooting no fuel to #6

Well found the culprit, turns out I wasn't paying much attention when cranking down the valve cover, and somehow managed to run a bolt right through the #6 injector wire lol. Wish i would have seen that before taking off the upper half of the intake, but would have been pretty tough to get...

For Sale  21 Circuit aftermarket wire harness

Custom wiring harness from EZ Wiring (not Painless but same idea). New in box, but was on the shelf for probably 6-7 years. Cut the zip ties off one of the legs to lay it out one time. Never installed. Perfect harness for rewiring motor swaps. http://www.ezwiring.com/wiring_harness.html...

How re-usable is the rear glass gasket?

Hey guys I'm going to take the cruiser in to have the rear hatch surface rust fixed up, but the shop hasn't done any cruiser work before and are worried about the gasket and the window. For the record no one around here has done cruiser work :) And the window has to come out as the rust is...

    Troubleshooting no fuel to #6

Hey guys, last winter I had started a tune up project that didn't up to well here https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/first-time-tune-up-truck-runs-like-crap.785363/ Basically new seals/gaskets on the front/top half of the motor, new cap/rotor and plugs. When it all went back to together it...

First time tune up, truck runs like crap! :)

Ralph, I'm not at all sure it's on correct :) I didn't check the timing, but will to make sure. But #6 plug definitely looked like it had never fired. and I did have it running for I would say around 5 minutes in total. Going to do some forum searches on intake removal and fuel injector...

First time tune up, truck runs like crap! :)

It took a few attempts, but I finally got the distributer back on the truck running again. But it was still missing on a cylinder and running rough. Started pulling wires off the distributer, every wire effected idle when removed, except for 6. Tried it again to be sure, and yup pulling...

First time tune up, truck runs like crap! :)

Well things went from bad to worse this weekend. I had the truck running rough when I first started on Sunday. It would start up, but idled pretty rough. I'm an idiot when it comes to motors, but my old man said it sounded like it was missing. So I pulled the distributer, set the crank...

Frozen caliper bolt, did I lube incorrectly?

Definitely going to have to do something, froze like that after only a few summer months. Bent 2 pins trying to hammer it out even after heating the hell out of the caliper bracket. Of course the small hole size for the bottom bolt limited the size of pin I could use. Thanks for the tips guys.

First time tune up, truck runs like crap! :)

Yeah going to tackle that first for sure. What is that valve called to the right of the PCV hose on the intake manifold? I can't seem to find it in the fsm. Every reference I've seen for the intake, only list the PCV hose. It's always illustrated, but I can't seem to locate it's name/...

First time tune up, truck runs like crap! :)

I ended up having to wait around a week for a replacement bolt from the local toyota dealership, so I figured I would do the tune up and reseal job I had meant to do in the summer. Why I waited until it got below freezing, who knows. But I was leaking oil at a pretty steady rate and the work...

How useful are off year FSMs and EWDs?

Hey guys, I have a paper 97 FSM that I would never part with. My problem is finding a 97 EWD. Seems there are some common years for the books available on ebay, 97 not being one of them. My question is, how much yearly specific info are in these books? Would a 95 EWD be fine for me...

Wanted  Dead rearmost oxygen sensor for 97 fzj

Looking for a dead rear most O2 sensor from (or will mate up to) a 97 fzj. More specifically, looking for the connector and the pigtail going to the sensor. I don't actually care about the sensor just looking for a decent shape connector and wires.

Frozen caliper bolt, did I lube incorrectly?

Hey guys, I ended up snapping the the lower bolt on my USDS rear caliper while trying to remove the caliper. The one without the full boot. The little plug on the end looked intact before I destroyed it trying to press the remainder of the pin out. I had the caliper off as recently as...

    Leaky shop press

Hey guys, I picked up a free to me shop press the other day. The only problem is it looks like the cylinder is leaking all the hydraulic fluid everywhere. I don't know much more about these things other then pump and release. So my lingo may be off :P The cylinder is a separate unit from...

Removed valve cover, how's it look?

Removed the valve cover yesterday and snapped a pic of my baby's naughty parts. I've never really been in here before, so if anyone has any opinions on what kind of shape my heads in that would be great! I did notice that the area between 1+2 is somewhat more clean then the rest of the...
