Just gave back my 2010 4.5TTD a few weeks ago with 478 000km, which is just under 300 000mi. Very original mechanically, only a rear diff rebuild, radiator replacement and water pump/idlers, alternator, belts etc while the radiator was out. Used as an Ag service vehicle, ran very hard and very...
Casio G-Shock, nothing too fancy, but this one is going on 10 years old, only on the second battery from new and it has taken a beating. Welding spatter, hydraulic oil, mud, sand, paint, cow****, you name it, its worn it at some point. Still my daily watch because I "need" a watch to have...
God that's beautiful country. Is that through the area of the Grand Teton's? I'm from Australia, but drove through there in winter 2001 going from Boise to Yellowstone. Was all snow & ice at that time.
I spotted my first LX variant in the wild this week - I much prefer the rounded off rear compared to the LC version. This one had a badge on the back that said LX350d, so I'm guessing a diesel version, but didn't get a closer look at it....
Isolators - when cornering to the left, if I hit a bump on the RHS I can feel a direct metal-on-body thump just under my right foot (RHD vehicle obviously). Now that I have taken all the equipment out of it it isn't as noticeable, but if I start violently shaking the steering wheel while in...
The older one is pretty worn out after 478K km. The main issue has been that it is extremely heavily loaded, and it has actually worn out the body mounts moreso than the suspension components. This is an agricultural service vehicle, so does a lot of kms on dirt/gravel/clay roads at high...
I run 3 x LED Spotlights in the bullbar on my 200 Series, and 1 x 40in lightbar up on the roof, nice and low and back about 2ft from the windscreen to make sure no glare ends up on the bonnet. I don't often "need" the 40in lightbar going and it also lights up the UHF/phone antenna's on the bar...
They're all dealer trucks for the time being. Had a test drive today of the GR Sport. Deliveries have been pushed back to September 2022 at the earliest. And absolutely no discounting will be tolerated. You can basically pay $1K to pre-order now, and go for a test drive, but that's about it.
Just had a very wet test drive of a GR Sport here in Australia. Nice vehicle, noisier than I thought it would be. Center console is huge, door trim is huge - kind of felt hemmed in. $148K on road. GXL $114K on road.
It's just an age thing. I've got a 2015 Hilux here that's doing the exact same thing. I'll probably just source some new reflector buckets (we have a couple of trade accounts with automotive suppliers) at some point when the work calms down a little bit....
Yep, humidity or precipitation leaking into them. They've done pretty well for 11 years in the sun, heat, dust, bird strikes and the never-ending vibrations & shock loads. I've got LED bulbs in them and they still throw excellent light - I just wonder if something with LED's built into it from...
I've been looking at these that appear on Alibaba.com. They've got a few different styles to suit the 2008 on models, 2012 on models and 2016 on models. I'me just not sure they'd be "great" quality, but neither are the factory ones now that they are yellowed up, filling with moisture and crazy...
Not sure whether I should be honoured or not that the good people over at Alibaba.com decided a random photo of my wagon on IH8MUD was going to be their thumbnail image to sell cheap plastic snorkel's for 200 Series Wagons. Mines a genuine TJM Airtec, just in case anyone actually wants to know.....
I know all the specs say that the split tailgate is gone, but that photo definitely has a seam across the back where a split tailgate world go - is it just the vinyl wrap that covers it up? I hope so- the 300 would become useless to me as a work vehicle on this point alone.... The other part...
If this one rolls up in your driveway, s***'s about to go down. Thats a Police/Tactical Response version..... All those platforms/bars etc are for a bunch of heavily armed dudes to be hanging onto as it arrives in your doorway...
