I know if i don't use mine for a while - they can take a while to lock - so every now and then, I take a short drive down to the beach and basically drive figure 8's till they lock in place. After that they lock up quickly and reliably.

This is the left side of my JDM VX cruiser - with sleeve and its filled with a Toyota tool kit and bottle jack. Where are they usually kept in US models?!

My curiser is a JDM import -=- but down here in New Zealand, just about every car is :D So we get a large number of model that are very high spec or even the very cut down models (seen a number with no sunroof, manual windows, no aircon, and the most shocking - no coolerbox or heated seats :P )...
Funny guys - but my 92' 80series does have (like many I have seen) factory fitted front/rear diff locks - in fact I have seen many 91's also with them.
Maybe me should remember that fact that US models may differ from Models imported from Japan. :D

Yip - the 80's did have front and rears (or both like mine) as a toyota factory option......
