I bought this as a spare but don't have my 80 Series any longer. Looks new but the wiring was cut pretty close to the housing; pretty easy fix if you can handle a soldering iron. $225 delivered in US. (locker, land, cruiser, landcruiser, axle)
Gas can swing arm for 80 Series Kaymar rear bumper (left side pivot).

Original owner. Unmodified. Powder coat is in decent condition but by no means perfect. Could use some paint touch-up in spots. This will need a bearing and race kit. I've provide a picture of the...
Can anyone confirm that SleeOffRoads part # STF1023 will work on my '91 axle that I'm preparing to put '94 calipers and other related parts on? I'd like to replace the original rubber lines... I talked to Christo, but he was unable to confirm.
UPDATE - I had pretty much given up on this company. Communication and progress went to nill. I emailed them again last week and they said they'd still like to make this happen...
We'll see what happens...
Unfortunately, no good news....
The second prototype was so messed up, they didn't even bother to send it to me for a test fit. Estimate is another 60 days for a 3rd prototype.
I wouldn't hold your breath for this being ready by summer.
Toadhopper,
The fan clutch shouldn't spin freely. If it did, it would indicate it lost it's hydraulic fluid.
The fact that you've never heard the 'whoosh' may be your problem and is exactly what I was missing for 10 years! Dependingn on your level of sound proofing, it may be more or...
Elbert,
Thanks for the pics. As you've already said, there are a lot of variables, fan shroud obviously being one of them.
Here's what gets me, you see reports of guys running no fan shroud and cooling just fine. Based on these reports and my own experience, I'm leaning towards believing...
The 180 degree tstat was just another experiment that went along with a recent Stewart Components Stage 1 High Flow waterpump. From all my reading, it sounds like the TBI 350 should be allowed to warm to 195 degrees for best performance and fuel economy. I'll most likely try a 195 tstat now...
I like reading over here because you guys have done more V8 swaps...
Anyway, another data point which I've finally realized after 10 years of trying to keep my 350 TBI cool in my '91 80 Series...
Fan clutch distance from radiator is critical to proper cooling. And possibly the air flow...
Let me clarify, I sent the manufacturer a radiator and they modeled a prototype after it. The first prototype was close. For the second go around, they will order the Toyota 'L' brackets that bolt to the radiator side supports. I've provided final measurements that they will verify with the...
No final price has been set. I'm hoping for $300ish, but only time will tell.
So, I attempted the install of the prototype and there were some fitment issues. I reported the details back to the manufacturer last week and will have to wait for another prototype.
Don't hold your breath for...
GearHeadMike, when your trailer has it's 'typical' load, the shackles should be at the 45 degrees towards the back that you mention.
When the trailer is unloaded, the shackles should be closeer to straight up and down, but still slighty towards the back.
