    Front Bench seat?

Not the problems I'm trying to solve for. Have a lady friend with, um, very wide hips who cannot fit into the default seat with my tufffy center console. This would allow for the non constriction of her, on the occasion she would want to drive - trying to interest her in off-roading, but as a...

    Front Bench seat?

Looks like the default mounts, any additional brackets or bracing must be unique to the actual wider seta frame itself, not to the mounting. Cool beans, thanks for the shots. Glenn

    Front Bench seat?

Would like to see a couple of pics of the frame mount detail at the floor level in front and back on the wider seat. Distance between frame rails on the wider would also be helpful. I'm seeing the notch out on the cushion for the shift levers, if I do a swap the way I would like, would have to...

    Front Bench seat?

Wow. Just wow. Amazing restoration thread. Good work and I will be following that to see when all the pretty, pretty pictures are up there. Those wider seats would probably do the trick, I'll be interested in how the frames are put together to allow for the heater to be under them but yet be...

    60 series Rear Bucket Seats

Have a read. If you don't have upgraded account you'll miss a lot of the photos but the info might be enough to follow. I only did the front, but I do have a back set to match that I'll get around to someday. Turns out its neither the BMW or PT Cruiser I was thinking of. Glenn...

    60 series Rear Bucket Seats

When I swapped out my front seats, I had found a thread where someone had replaced the back with a 60/40 split out of another model/make of SUV. However, he had to make custom mount brackets *and* open up the seat cover and custom "carve" (think electric knife) of the foam to allow the doors to...

    Front Bench seat?

All right! Now I'm a unicorn hunter. :) They exist, but are really darn rare. Which means that *somewhere* there may be one that exists that can be measured and at least allow for possible other models/makes being shoehorned into place based on a custom frame, etc. Thanks for the confirmation...

    Front Bench seat?

Was wondering if in all the "rest of the world" variants of the FJ60/62 if there was ever a front bench seat. Did a search on this forum....there are a helluva lot of posts that contain "bench" and "seat" but nothing with a combination of the two in the order I'm looking for. Pretty sure its a...

    Leaf spring shackle/bushing help.

Just $.02 for future thread searches. If bushings are rubber, don't use vaseline. BAD. Use a non petroleum lubricant, it won't cause the rubber to rot. If poly bushings, then vaseline should be ok. Glenn in Marana

    Land Cruisers spied on TV/movies

Just wached Michael Palins "Pole to Pole" travel series. Episodes 4 and 5 have several FJ60/62 and some variant of the 70 series, as well as a Patrol and what looked like some Land Rovers. Driving across Africa. Glenn in Marana.

HFC-152a trial as possible R12 substitute.

Might be worth pulling the interior blower fan motor and using electrical contact cleaner on the coils and such to get rid of accumulated crud/gerdue . Could also see if its possible to clean and re-grease the bearings. Might be just trying to draw more amps due to worn bearings or worn...

HFC-152a trial as possible R12 substitute.

Didn't see anything about this, so figured I'd post up. I have a 84 R12 system that over the years has had R12, and envirosafe as the cooling fluids in the last 10 years. This last year I dug the truck out of the back 40 and discovered it was cooling poorly. Go to look, and can't find a vendor...

    front seat swap?

Or go to a good doctor and make sure that everything is in alignment "down there". :) Course, OME doesn't make spring packs for our buttocks.....yet. Glenn in Marana

Fj60/62's top the list of Haggerty's hottest cars this spring

Well this explains the recent upswing in random people approaching me and asking me if I want to sell my truck. Now parking in the back yard out of sight after someone came to my *front door* to ask about it. FYI I live in the boonies and its not bloody likely to have a random drive by in my...

    It's kinda flattering, but....

Yah. Pretty sure thats one of the advantages of a 60. Interior hood release cable. :) Had an Austin-Healey a long time ago that had hood locks. Should have been rings.....I used a couple of small padlocks. Glenn

    It's kinda flattering, but....

In the last couple of months I have had two different people approach me regarding my FJ60. One asked if I was "still trying to sell it" and the other just flast out asked if it was for sale. Nothing on the rig has a "for sale" indicator on it. Makes me worry about leaving it parked anywhere...
