FJ60 to FJ62 Rear seat conversion

I'm still around... The 62 seat bottom frame has steel brackets and the upholstery has plastic, non-locking grommets that allow the headrests to be stored. The holes are visible when one folds the 62 seat bottom forward. The headrests must be removed to fold the backrest forward and clear the...

Drive shaft stuck, what can I do

Once driveshaft is removed...I would suggest now is the time for new u-joints and a though cleaning and re-lube of the slip joint with a new zerk fitting.

    Abandoned 84 FJ60 gets some love, and a 4bt!

It's relatively easy to remove the filler neck restrictor as it is only spot welded in place. A long rotary file, Dremmel, or even a sharp chisel will do. Obviosly, the pipe must be removed, and, depending in method used and how carefully restrictor was removed, a few small holes may need...

FJ60 upgrade/conversion/retrofit to better wiper motor?

Another option, and a life time upgrade. Still working perfectly too! https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/wiper-linkage-overhaul.975785/#post-10850693

Hj61 AC bezel light has no power (solved)

Once the power issue is sorted, you can get LED festoon style bulbs, at least in 12v.

    Introduction

Welcome. Nice looking 60. Only issue with your post is the pictures are reversed as the steering wheel is on the wrong side! :) As you likely already know, lots of information and people who like to share their common passion here.

    Builds The Journey Begins...

5 degrees is not really a problem with the radiator and shroud. So not to repeat many posts, I would encourage you to read my build from the beginning. It covers engine angle, radiator, power steering, AC, intercooler, oil filter relocation, tach, and much more. There are a lot of pictures and...

    Builds The Journey Begins...

I had questions about engine angle also. After much discussion on Mud and 4BTswaps, it was deemed accepatable to have 5-8 degrees of angle. It was pointed out the engine oil and coolant systems are pressurized, so no issues with 5-8 degrees. On my swap, I kept the drive train in stock...

    Builds 1990 FJ62 5.3 and H55

The picture looks like a stock sender. Did the stock OP gauge ever work properly post swap, or is this a new problem? If someone connected the wire to the wrong post, it actually kills the dash gauge. There may be a way to fix the gauge, but most replace dash cluster.

    Builds 1990 FJ62 5.3 and H55

There are 2 spade lugs on the stock 60 oil sender. If the wire is connected to the wrong spade, it kills the oil pressure gauge. It's been awhile, so I'm not positive which spade is used, but someone will chime in.

    Abandoned 84 FJ60 gets some love, and a 4bt!

I used an Isuzu 4BD2. Here are a few shots of my AC parts locations. NAPA has great book that has 100's of AC fittings.

Sorry for a hijack... The statement that the stock Isuzu 4BD2/1 manifolds and turbos don't clear the 60 Series brake booster is incorrect. See below.

Yet another 6bt swap into an HJ60

I will be following your swap. The Cummins is a great engine, I have one in an RV, but they are big - tall, long and heavy. I swapped an Isuzu 4BD2 into my 60 with my H55. The Isuzu engine is a 4 cylinder which is much shorter than 6BT front to rear, which for my swap is good. Both engines have...

    Help, too much oil?!

I don't know your engine/IP, so other may correct me on my ideas. On the IP you probably have a lift pump where the hard fuel lines attach. These can leak internally. The IP also has internal seals that can fail and allow fuel to leak into the engine oil. If the injectors are leaking, I would...

    Help, too much oil?!

Only 3 possibilities: Diesel - Injection pump or injectors Engine coolant - head gasket leak or crack - not likely as no milkshake Someone is adding oil You have changed oil 2 times, checked for correct level, then it is too full. My bet is IP.

    Builds The Journey Begins...

I have no issues with the H55. 33's and 3:70's in 5th makes 65-70 cruise easy. Yes first gear is short, but off road it's nice, and I take off in second often. Not familiar with driving MV4500, so not much help. But, they are way cheaper to buy, though you need another adapter. On my swap, I...
