We need slow down a bit. If you bypassed the rear heater lines only, then you should have heat from the vents once warmed up, if not you have other issues. If you bypassed both heaters, that would make sense.
I don't see much difference between a gas stove at home and a gas stove in camp. Electric to gas is different but if it's a learned skill, so too will be fire cooking.
I'm shooting from memory and it's been a while since I touched the fuel rail for my hg job but, isn't the fuel rail torqued to 22 inch pounds? Don't quote me thought it's worth a recheck.
