What is your impression of the LT kit? I was going to go Slinky but have given up on it.
I want the added droop for dune running with CDC 2.5 shocks with internal bump stops. Is this a similar setup?
Title says it all. My 9k Superwinch stopped working so I decided to replace it vs fixing it. I'm leaning towards a 12.5k due to mine being a HEAVY rig.
I stumbled across this thread talking about how "integrated winches don't work with the ARB". What does that mean...
I'll double down on what others have said. 160k really isn' thigh miles on the 4.7. Ball joint, and timing belt every 85/90k is pretty much it.
I was in a similar boat, got out of a Lexus payment and paid cash for a 03 Sequoia LTD with 215k on it about 6 years ago and the wife DD'd it up to...
PS - I would second matching front springs to match slinky rears. I know slinkys are a progressive rate spring which would make me nervous to have everything matched.
I Have oversized sway bars and poly bushings all around with a 2.5 OME / heavies lift, oh and braided brake lines (Probably takes a little pedal play out, one of those "hard to tell the difference" mods). I can't imagine driving mine without the beefed up sway bars. Especially with the RTT.
Mine is 3" with high flow cat and muffler. Sounds more like a swarm of angry bees than the "drone" you're describing.
I would LOVE to do a trip like that, but my boat biz is 100% slammed mid June - Mid Sep, so I end up staying close to home unfortunately. :-(
I used to do Oregon coast / St...
Totally possible. Judging from the emails I have I think mine might have been the prototype of the concept. Seems like "discovery phase". "Hey, let's try this idea to address this issue" like adding rising rate FMU, then unichip, then higher flowing CAT. It's fun finding somebody else that was...
Ha! I bet it was. Mine was built by Toyota of Seattle, they were doing a promo of building a couple expedition rigs. Kaymar, ARB drawers, OME lift, beefed up brakes, the works. I have a whole folder of emails form the owner to his shop about the build. His general service manager bought one, I...
Sorry guys, I've been crazy busy and haven't been on Mud as much as I used to. With this thread getting more attention these days, I just went back and added a TON of information / pics in my first few reserved slots. Make sure to go back and look at them! Hopefully it will answer questions if...
Those pics aren't showing up for me, but I installed a manual boost controller inline of the waste-gate actuator. It allowed me to better dial in boost vs relying on the actuator's preset threshold. Basically a spring loaded ball bearing that opens all at once vs slow creep...
I figured that would tease some interest.
I currently have 285/75/16 Duratrac's on some old steelies that are pitted pretty bad. After installing the new rack / RTT she looks like she needs a wheel refresh.
Tires are still at 70-80%, but I want to swap to KO2's. I have them on a...
