Nah Clint i sold it Friday last week, to some nice young bloke.
61Mk+ no regrets! I've had my fun and time to move on! Plenty of time later to rekindle my love for Landcruisers!
Just thought i would update this thread for the last time!
I ended up selling the shorty a few days ago, as much as i loved it I just couldn't justify keeping it with how little use it got.
I did a bit of work to get it ready for sale, including having the gearbox out, replacing all the...
Is there any way to pull the pin out without splitting the case? I have just ripped the h55f out of my BJ71, replaced the seals, re-fitted it, filled with oil, and then my friend, a mechanic adjusted the linkage and it fell in! Please tell me i dont have to do it all again!

True, its not the ideal setup for anybody in a shorty. Probably would have to be about 5' nothing to sleep in one comfortably. But it sure does beat putting up a tent and I usually have a skinfull  while camping so you hardly even notice the lack of space when you eventually go to bed :)...

how fast are you expecting this to be clint? like beat a commy v6 p plater off the lights fast or will it be up there with the turbo 4s and v8s fast. Just wandering what sort of tune and how much power your expecting to get out of it.
I agree with you about the 40 series look. One of my ultimate rides would be a 45 series body on a HDJ80 chassis.
If the HDJ80 is out of your budget also look at some HZJ or FZJ80's. Ive seen some high km examples going really cheap in aus, probably the same deal in NZ. Im only saying this...
So a BJ40 suits your needs apart from it not riding as nice as you need it to?
Some suggestions based on type and budget...
A BJ74 comes with either auto or 5speed gearbox, turbo diesel 13BT, 100inch wheelbase, some are lucky enough to have factory manual cable lockers and all have manual...
