What bunch of lucky blokes. And it goes to show the wonders of owning those cruisers you got there. Un-bolt the broken bits, inspect the other bits for damage, pop on new bits. Simpler than trying to fix a unibody.
The truck I bought came with working front and rear ARB Air Lockers and an Air Compressor, and to be honest, most of the time, you don't even need to use them, and you can get to most places you would want to get to without them. And even most obstructions can simply be avoided by not tackling...
That's an interesting design. Very practical. Although I think the look of being in the back of that truck looks a bit uncomfortable. I think that's a pretty good deterrent to not wanting to commit a crime in the middle of nowhere.
Nothing completely legal unless it is 25 years old or older. And as Rosco pointed out, the oldest of the 70 series trucks are starting to turn 25. So you could probably do so with an older one if you so choose, just won't have an HZ engine unless you swap one in yourself.
Very nice there, Rosco. Wish I could upload some pics from my old phone of the City & County Roadworks 1991 FJ80s that I've seen around here. That is probably one of the few Cruisers I wouldn't want to go for a ride in. :hillbilly:
Tilly picked him for his truck. Because as we know, Dogs love trucks. :hillbilly:
And the people demand more awesome pictures of Australia and your Cruiser.
Nice truck, and even more beautiful country side. I wish I was able to afford a 'round the world trip to see some of these beautiful locations. That looks absolutely stunning.
Wow, Wayne, I remember seeing this thread back when I was just trolling IH8MUD. Must be good to finally see your investment at last, eh? Hopefully we get to see it after all the work. Cheers, man. :hillbilly:
Nice find, and here's to hoping they get some use out of them every once in a while, eh? I wish I had some of that full-floating rear axle problem going on here. I got my lockers, but I still would rather have a physical lever to pull to engage them, rather than flicking a switch to turn the...
Once the work gets goin, you are practically required to post pictures and a write up of how everything goes. Aside from that, that is some beautiful scenery up in the mountains out there. Wish I could see them first hand.
I don't know if they have anything for the 1FZ, but TRD might have something. I am also unsure of whether they have a TRD outlet in the Middle East.
EDIT: They do have super chargers for the 1FZ, but it is advertised as for the 95-97 model year Land Cruisers.
Electrical gremlins are a pain. But once you get those out of the way, and get that awning set up, I think it would be a nice truck to spend the weekend out camping in. Just wish I could get my hands on a 75 series truck. :hillbilly:
Wait, there's supposed to be lights on the INSIDE of the dash instead of using ambient light from the outside to read the gauges at night?:bang: Actually, mine work, but like everything else on the truck, only when it wants to. :meh: I actually like the blue LEDs better, but maybe a little...
Zing. But that still doesn't mean he hasn't got any. :grinpimp:
Also, just to keep it tech related, got any shots of the rear? What kind of bumpers is she running? (the 62, not the chick.):hillbilly::flipoff2:
BFG A/Ts are some great tires, but just about any set of All- Terrain tires in the 31x9.5 R15 should be good. I use 15 inch rims, but anything roughly the same size should be good for most places you can go. I don't know what the equal size would be fore a 16 inch rim.
