Oil Cooler and New Radiator - please check my homework

Appreciate the referral. Toyota still has them available so I grabbed a couple of sets. Excited to get this done only to find another leak 😃

Oil Cooler and New Radiator - please check my homework

Regarding the radiator, after this long I wondered if it salvageable and if it would really save much. I’m in the PHX Mesa area so I’m sure there is a radiator repair shop, but don’t know if this one can be saved. I may consider holding on to it and seeing if someone can repair it and if so...

Oil Cooler and New Radiator - please check my homework

Good call on the fan clutch and makes sense on the water pump.

Oil Cooler and New Radiator - please check my homework

Time to tackle a couple of projects that I’ve been ignoring or avoiding - leaking oil cooler and new radiator. I’d like a second, third or more set of eyes on the plan before I get started. 1985 FJ60 - 110K miles Oil Cooler - I believe this is the source of some consistent oil seaping, not a...

Failing Already? Front Inner Axle Seals

Last rebuild everything was cleaned and new grease was used.

Failing Already? Front Inner Axle Seals

That makes sense. I’ll retorque things up and watch it during the winter and see if anything improves. As always, thanks for the collective feedback and experience.

Failing Already? Front Inner Axle Seals

Replying to myself🙃 Been a while and the evening temps have broken below 90. I pulled out the cruiser and more grease on the floor. It’s kinda got a pinkish hue which makes me wonder if it’s the grease in the knuckle. The picture doesn’t show the color well. I cannot imagine that the grease is...

Transmission fluid recommendation. Redline, mobile 1, Toyota?

So I’m going to bring my 06 Corolla into this conversation to help support the pro-redline theory. Bought the thing with 150k for my kids to drive. They are out of the country right now so I’ve been driving it. Since acquiring the car, we have done all the maintenance on it. But as I’ve been...

Failing Already? Front Inner Axle Seals

Anything is possible as it was a first time job, but having said that I did things slow, following instructions closely while also watching videos and was meticulous about the torque on every nut. I cleaned them up last night and will pay attention to see if I start seeing fluid. In my opinion...

Failing Already? Front Inner Axle Seals

I wish my memory was that good. I’m in Arizona so I’m sure I did it before it was too hot here, it wouldn’t have been cold. Cruiser is garaged and the garage in the summer is extremely hot.

Failing Already? Front Inner Axle Seals

So here’s what I did tonight…found the breather valve and it was a bit crusty. Pull it off the hose cleaned it out good and it seems to be functioning; I can blow air through it when I press down on it, air is obstructed. Interestingly, enough, as I was working on the breather, the hose was...

Failing Already? Front Inner Axle Seals

I will definitely check that breather later today. That might explain why fluid start pushing out so easily. Really appreciate all the ideas to help chase it down.

Failing Already? Front Inner Axle Seals

Checked the fluid level which seems fine because when I opened the top of the diff some fluid came out, so that makes me think the level is ok. Here are some pics of what I am seeing and the color of fluid at the end of the studs. No drips , just getting messy. Just thinking, if fluid came out...

Failing Already? Front Inner Axle Seals

Good comments and tips. I have not retorqued the nuts - happen to know the torque spec? I don't remember if we used the Centering SST when we did it. I'll check the fluid level today and attach a couple of pics of what I'm seeing.

Failing Already? Front Inner Axle Seals

About 5 years and 3,000 miles ago I did a knuckle rebuild using the kit with the heavy duty seals from @cruiseroutfit . I was underneath recently and noticed there is some fluid on both sides on the four studs under the knuckle. Not horrible yet, but definitely there. So my question, is it...

    Front Grill recommendations

I’m in the process of replacing the front bumper of my 60. I’ve been really up close and personal with the grill today and decided it’s time for an upgrade. The original is peeling and pretty nasty. Lots of aftermarket options out there and some I’m curious if you guys have a favorite -...

Or maybe they don’t come off???

New ARB Bumper Install - how to remove this…

Pulled off the original bumper and based on the really poor quality instruction photos, I’m assuming this bracket most come off, but have no idea how to get them off.
