I have been thinking about building a 4 door Cruiser. I have been gathering parts. My plan it to use full doors in the rear. I want to build on like the Olive one in the first pages of this thread. My oldest son does paint and body work so when he comes to visit, I will put him to work.
I will be following this. My son and I have been talking about doing the same thing. The only problem is he lives in Alabama and I live in Alaska. He is a paint and body tech. He does not think it will be too hard but then again he has a gift for it.
I want to install Sylvania Silver Star Ultra H6024 bulbs. Does anyone know the part number for a light housing with a replaceable bulb that will fit the FJ40. Also what connector did you use for the light? Was it a dealer part or can I get it at a parts store.
I am tired of the weak stock...
Humi, I have a stock master cylinder. Srgo, I will look into that, I had not thought about that. Pb4, I have a adjustable proportioning valve. Bike, it is in the rear circuit. I have rebuilt everything except for 3 lines. I also have to agree with srgo, On every pre anti lock brake vehicle I...
I just completed a 4 wheel disc brake conversion. I closed the proportioning valve and just cracked it open like everyone says to do. I took it out for a test and it stops good but I can't get the front brakes to lock, the back brakes will. I am using a stock master cylinder with the factory...
Last winter I replaced the master cylinder. I just finished with front disc brake conversion. I still have to give it 2 pumps and on the 3rd I have a firm pedal that does not fade. I checked all the lines to make sure I had no leaks. Both front brakes will lock when I apply them hard enough. I...
I was told that If you have a Ranger Torque Splitter with a SMB you will be able to use the stock driveshaft's and the transmission will be in the stock location. Is this true?
My clutch master cylinder started leaking this week. I am going to replace the master and slave with new parts. I will rebuild the old ones and keep them on the shelf. Since I plan on doing a frame off on it, I figured I might as well start with new parts. I have 90 percent of my parts for a...
You have a bad connection. The bad connection is building heat casuing the fuse to blow. If you had a short it would blow everytime you turn your lights on. The heat in the fuse block is the indicator. A larger fuse is not a wise choice. That could cause a lot of damage.
Thanks for the info. I have laready dropped them off with a friend. I have them 4.180 that Poser told me it was. Going .005 over will nto hurt. Send me a PM and let me know how much you want for them. I have found a part number for them at NAPA. The ones at NAPA are $10 each. Thanks again.
The 2 past contracts I have worked on (12 years) we have had very good luck with red top Optima's. Whe have had them get run down due to a over crank fault on a generator. Once the fault happened the fault ligh would flash draining the battery. This usually happened at -40 or colder. All we have...
Is your battery mounted on the right side. If so, are you running seperate wires for each light or are they daisy chained? Current will take the path of least resistance. ZDaisy chained your right light is warming up faster because the electrond do not have to travel as far, same thing applies...
I am going with GM brake parts. They are cheap and you can get them at any parts store. I got my mounting brackets from JTO. My son picked them up for me a brought them up, so I did not have to pay shipping. New rotors were $27.00 each. Flex lines are $10.00 each. Calipers will be around $50.00...
What size do I need to open up the center hole of the disc? I have a friend who is going to it for me for free. My favorite price!
I am gathering parts for the conversion. I already have the mounts for all 4 wheels and 4 disc. All I have left is flex lines, perportioning valve, and calipers.
I will have to tell Santa I want heated seats and a duster for Christmas.
Sorry to Highjack the thread, I wonder how hard it is to install the heated seat.
Try driving at -50, you will want everything you can think of to keep warm. Heated seats would be a plus. I have working front and rear heates and I have to carry a ice scraper for the inside of the windows
