Another dog owner for crates. In a collision, its much safer.
That being said, when I was a kid, we let the dogs ride up front
in our ranch pickup, or in the back. But never when on the highway.

Price cures all defects. Late 84's have a split transfer case. so
if you want to do a 5 speed transplant later you can bolt it
right up.
