I thought I'd share a picture of the new seats in my '84. They are out of a 2014 Volvo V60R. Installation involved cutting and welding on the floor, but I'm very happy with them.

I stole this idea from a Craig's ad. Swing out mounts in trailer receiver and has space for two Jerry cans. I leave it off around town but use it on road trips. Picture is not my truck, but original ad.
Put me down for a set for an early series set (84) also, providing they'll work with Volvo V70 seats.
A question for those of you who've swapped to modern seats: were you able to wire the seats to utilize all of the functions (heat, lumbar adjustment, etc)? I'm sure it's not a plug and play...
It's a real nice V8. With the turbo whine of my hx30, it's easy to imagine that I'm Mel Gibson in Road Warrior with his super charger. Same sound. The diesel is just different, whether you like it or not.
I have an '84 60 with a 4bd2t/nv4500. HX30, cooled. It puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Had the same rig with a crate 330 hp small block and Ranger transmission. Fast and fun, but with a diesel you're cruising, not just driving.
May God bless you.You know you are in un-charted waters and could easily fall off the face of the Earth.I know I will be watching wiith great interest.Good Luck!
Not on this engine. The only tranny that will bolt up without an adapter is a SAE#3 pattern (Allison comes to mind). The adapter is to convert from a SAE to C6.The 4bd1 that I have is a 1980, and I don't think the Isuzu 5 speed arrived until 1986.The Aisin auto appeared a year or two later.
note...
Agreed, although in the States it amounts to the same thing.I just wanted to nip the rumor in the bud before anyone spends money based on it.The SAE to Ford C-6 adaptor is available through Phoenix Castings, should anyone want to use the industrial engine.
