Looking good. I spotted a brown 80 at Maaco in Littleton a few weeks ago. Yours?
When I repaint mine, if I don’t stick with Moonglow, I’m going with brown.
I have an update.
I received some helpful advice from everyone.
I had to go to four different auto parts stores before I found one that had coolant dye. I added the dye to the coolant and after a few days of driving around town, it started leaking again. The dye and magic light worked great...
I think my new head gasket may be leaking.
I purchased my 97 FZJ80 about 4 months ago. The PO installed a new head gasket about 6 months (I think) before that. About a month ago I noticed a couple drops of coolant under the bell housing, but didn't see any coolant above. I wiped it off and...
There was a copy of that same owner's manual in the glove box. Hopefully you didn't have to buy another one.
I never liked that Holley and I had wished it still had the Aisin, but with a little (maybe a lot) of adjusting, it should idle/run "pretty good" if you can get your timing set. I...
I thought you'd enjoy seeing a picture of the pig when I bought it. It sat about 2 inches higher and had roller skate wheels. The cut-and-turn hadn't been done on the front axle yet, so the caster was way out of wack. The disc brakes were not installed. The thing felt like it was going to...
You're right about that! I had no idea. I spent half an hour trying to split the first round with my axe. I got nowhere. I gave up and rented the splitter.
I had a couple of dead limbs cut off of our elm trees in the backyard and they left me the rounds. I rented a splitter and made a day of it. Lots of fun.
Bummer. I have the 10.5's on my Trekker and would've liked to have a 9.5 for the spare.
Your 40 looks good, I mean, bad ass with the new meats.
I had 10.5's on my daily driver fj40 back in the day. If I remember right, they were about as wide as you could go without needing fender flares.
DON'T DO IT.
You will regret it.
I just went through the same predicament with my fj55. I sold it and I regret it. I convinced myself it was the right thing to do and it made sense at this point in my life, but there's more to it than being practical.
If you have any attachment or bond to it...
The driver was from Venezuela and admitted his English wasn't very good. A lot of sign language was used when loading the pig on the trailer. He said, being from Venezuela, he was familiar with "Land Cruisers" and "2f".:)
I used a passenger door armrest to extend the center console armrest. I'm not sure that this is a long term solution, but I had the idea and wanted to give it a try.
