My Cruiser doesn't stall, but seems to build excessive tank pressure. Been following this thread and was about to make a heat shield for the fuel line near the CAT. But I recently I towed my trailer using ethanol-free fuel going both directions and not only did the pressure issue stop my...
A/C clutch fell off in Costilla NM while driving to Latir lakes - nothing hard or as rough as Goose lake. 300k and never had an issue with the A/C. Bad part is I lost the special washer/shim. I was able to find a replacement in my spare washers! Purchased a complete clutch assembly from...
I'm pretty sure it should be the Pink Super Long Life fluid, definitely not green. get the pressure checker and check the obvious fittings, if they are good look towards the front of the engine block for possible leaks around the water pump.
That's looking really good!
Funny though, I hit a deer last summer and wiped out my right front fender, broke the headlight mount and completey destroyed the turn indictor and the ARB bumper looks perfect.
I'm giggling while reading this as I'm looking for a used fender that's the same color...
You should be able to crack a fitting on the fuel line and wrap a rag around it while someone tries to start it. FWIW the fuel pump is easily accessed under the middle seat and you can verify power is there if no fuel is lowing with the above method.
Search my name to find more info on the...
The only indication is the red Key/car icon that blinks when the key is removed. Mine was blinking all the time in or out of the ignition. I originally thought it was my fuel pump as the symptoms appeared the same.
Just replace the fuse for a quick check.
I suppose it could, mine seemed to get “stuck” in a dead spot and would just crank until it would allow the pump to spin again. I don’t recall any drivability issues or codes.
I’m thinking a dirty/failing injector or bad 02 sensor. Try some fuel cleaner that can remove water, as water won’t...
I wanted to add that my ‘98 started this intermittent starting issue quickly escalating to leaving me stranded at work. I pulled the fuse it looked a little dirty and figured reseating it would make it fire..... wrong. But it fooled me as the relay was working - they must be on a different...
Just an quick update : I found my problem to be the immobilizer and glad I found this before I replaced the fuel pump!
I feel fortunate that cleaning the contact with electrical spray cleaner and new fuse fixed my problem. Hope this helps someone.
Cheers
I’m dead at work with what I thought was a bad fuel pump. But noticed my immobilizer icon flashing with the key in the ignition and will not start! Can someone check what their does with the key in and with the key in the Acc position? Preferably in a 1998, but at this point any info would be...
