    Transmission Cooler Designs

i have a small flex a lite cooler that is slightly larger than stock. when wheeling and towing i have never ran any temps higher than 210. the biggest factor to consider is flow/ restriction of the cooler itself. mounting can be done remotely but you'll need air flow, either from a auxillary fan...

1HD-T Coolant Leak at Injection Pump

replace the cold start wax pot or use a block off plate and pull the choke. the wax pot is one whole assembly. coolant runs through the pot heats the wax which pushes the plunger forward and off the fast idle during cold starts. i don't think you can repair this part. i have one in the garage. i...

    Turbo Timer Issues.

i have an australian tt in my truck and it has issues only when an accessory is on ( console cooler, rear defrost, head light switch). other than that the truck shuts off every time. you need to find the timed power lead and determine whether or not it is actually cutting the power. my truck...

    2H Turbo Exhaust 2.5-3.0 inch???

2.5 is enough to get the job done, make sure you are using mandrel bent piping. crush bent tubes flow less efficiently. your call on the muffler though. you don't have air scare like on the mainland. i would run a flow through style muffler. you can look right thru them but they have packing on...

HDJ81 - which mufflers to remove?

ditto above comments. all stock mufflers and resonators can go. if you need to run some sort of muffler chose a 3" inlet/outlet flow through style ( magna flow , aero turbine ).. i have the latter and it sounds great and performs well.

    EGT module for 1HD-T

install pyro into exhaust manifold close to the collector ( where it joins to the turbo or in the exhaust tube post turbo) drill & tap or just drill (depends on manufacturers supplied fittings). run wires through fire wall, find a switched hot wire for your back lighting ( radio power perhaps)...

    straight piping question

straight piping is going to be loud in your rig . find a flow through muffler *(aero tirbine, magnaflow etc.) for a diesel application and go from there. build your system with mandrel bent tubing. use aluminized steel, unless you want the stainless bling factor (way more money) and not needed...

Can a pyrometer probe be installed in exhaust pipe instead of manifold?

egt's for any diesel engine should stay below 1200 deg. F in the exhaust manifold.down pipe temps will be approx. 200 deg. F, lower depending on distance from the exhaust manifold. stock settings could still produce these temps depending on the situation, restricted exhaust, plugged muffler etc...
