Altan, can you remove the #6 piston with the block still in the truck? The piston showed around 180 psi of compression.
Yes you can, but you have to remove the head to do it.:crybaby: be sure to put a rubber hose over the bolts of the rod before you slide it up so you dont mar the crank...
!!The wire is from the rings.!! the noise you heard is most likely piston slap. I just replaced my #6 piston for the same reason. Questions do you have blow by and what is the compression? My piston broke right at the oil ring so dont let it go on like I did:bang:
I just removed my head on my '86 fj60 and found that I busted the top off #6 piston. Since this is my daily driver and I've been laid off since december I need to fix this on the CHEAP. I would love to rebuild the engine but the budget wont alow it right now.
Does anyone know where I can get 1...
Actually the crossing is part of the trail. You have a choice the river or the bridge(with loose members and all)
I have not done anything to the Dizzy but replace the rubber boot that was missing, and some silicone grease around the wire boots and drier hoses. the only time I ever had a...
Bridges! We dont need no stinking bridges!
Actualy the bridge did not look that safe boards loose and everything' plus the river was just calling out to me:grinpimp:
I always like seeing pics of your rigs in action so I thought I'd post some of mine from last weekend. Funny but none of the j**ps :rolleyes:wanted to cross:steer:
I mounted mine along side the center counsel I just removed the cup holders and had plenty of room behind the break lever. will try to post pics later.
I would talk another body shop! thats seems really high priced (unless your rig is a real rust bucket). Besides a good body shop will tell you what you could do yourself to lower the cost.
goodluck on your restore:steer::cheers:
Last night my smog pump started to squeal real loud. I think it's about to freeze up on me. I'm away from home on a job in Roswell NM. the soonest I can get a pump is Tuesday. any suggestions on how I can get the rig going again sooner. I'm kinda stuck in a motell room right now afraid to drive...
Hey just thought you in the FJ section would get a kick out of this. Our Sheriff dept needed new 4x4s so they bought 2 of these when I asked why the went with the FJ the Sheriff replied "We were just tearing up the American stuff to fast"
I live in the area. The alpine loop would be great. Perfect Land Cruiser trails. With river crossings old mining claims, ghost towns,breathtaking views. the trails are rated 4 to 5. I know the area well and usually have my hunting camp there. I can provide any info you need. And get great rates...
