Since scrap isn't much these days and I'm getting tired of dealing with craiglist, seeing if anyone wants this engine for free.
I'd much rather see someone get some use from it other then just scrapping it
It's a straight 6 out of a 94 fj80, it has 308,000 miles on it but it ran really good...
Yeah they are different, (I know I'm going to get a lot o of flack from people about this) but I'm using them to make a custom rear drive shaft.
I have a steep angle and I always wanted to try making a birfield driveshaft, I like to think outside the box :)
Since Rick is closer to me , I'll grab...
Any of you FJ80 guys or actually FJ60's would work too, have any spare stock birfields kicking around?
I really only need one side either the short one or the long one, just need the birfield joint in good shape.
Preferably not to far from NH and not looking to break the bank on it either.
Thanks
I wont have it out for this weekend, probably in another week or two.
I'm building something I've always wanted to build, an expedition rig for off roading, camping and just long distance traveling. So I picked up a 94 FJZ80 cheap and have been throwing all my time and money at it.
I'm losing...
It never ceases to amaze me how vindictive and low woman can get during a separation.
Kina, I've only meet you a few times, but that was enough to know your not the bad guy in this. And I will tell you from my own personal experience of having a psycho ex too and shearing custody of a child...
Going to be pulling and probably scraping a 94 FJ80 engine (1FZE),would anyone be interested in it?
It has 310k on it but it runs really good and strong, just a few small oil leaks around some of the gaskets.
YJ springs work too but are a little too soft.
Donovan springs in Londonderry,NH ( http://www.donovanspring.com ) will build you new springs, for most any model year.
I heard they're pretty reasonable, I was going to call and get a quote from them soon on some rear 60 spring.
Maybe they would...
I would think hooking it to something like a tree and using the vehicles power to back up would eventually release it?
But whether you get it unstuck or end up cutting it, the cable would probably have to be replaced anyways.
Just to add a little more on the swanzey property and ENH (since I'm the owner).
I have not perused any further on the swanzey rules and issues since the beginning of summer. I was waiting to see how things worked this year then get more involve next year to try to allow more usage. I(ENH) got...
No the 40 isn't even close to being ready for FG
I haven't put any time in to the 40 since spring time, I need to get motivated on that again.
You definitely notice the bigger heavier wheels, but it's still a hot rod when you need it to be :)
Still figuring out the mpg's but it's looking like I went from 18mpg to about 16.5. Not to bad, luckily this isn't my daily driver, just my weekend toy.
Is it a 1 wire alternator?
I had charging issues too on mine. Finally gave up bought a 1 wire alt that connects right to the battery and never had a charging issue again.
I pick this Tundra up last spring used (2008) with the intentions of it just being a weekend work horse. Picking up stuff from the hardware store and towing vehicles when needed, etc. I also said I wasn't go to mod it and leave it all stock.......well I lasted a full 3 weeks before I picked up a...
