Seat Covers - Ridies vs. LSeat

Sorry - didn't see this until now @Rednexus. My experience: LSeat: I put this leather in my 80 4 to 5 years ago. It showed wear marks after two years and several tears developed in 4 years and 20k miles. Pretty disappointing.... I did go ahead and buy another bottom from LSeat and replaced...

My LSEAT leather seat experience and install directions

Yea that looks like poor/cheap materials usage @Aloha Jen. I haven't had any luck with any warranty or reduced replacement costs with them in my case. I wonder if they have cheapened their materials in the last year or two? Since I noted my issues in a previous post, here's one picture. It's...

My LSEAT leather seat experience and install directions

As a few others have sprinkled into this thread, don't expect any longevity with the lseat leather. I'm at 4 years and about 20k miles on mine, and now have several wear/tear areas in the driver seat bottom. This with semi-regular care and treatment of the leather. All the "just installed"...

    Nerding out on coil packs

This is the second one on the RAV4: 125k and then 140k miles. So if they are the same part as the V8's, then..... I know there are many factors - heat being one of them, and spark plug condition/age/gap, so maybe it's just bad luck along with other conditions inside the engine bay. But I do...

    Nerding out on coil packs

Yea - it's just interesting that none of those old/superceded part numbers overlap. They all follow a trail to either the A2005 or A2007. Yet Denso says it's one part compatible with all. The inventory management angle makes some sense, although it seems odd that they'd group the 4 cyl and...

    Nerding out on coil packs

My son was driving across the country in our 11 RAV4, and threw CEL-type failure in IL. The car went into semi-limp mode and so they had to deal with it on the road. Long story short, it was a cyl 2 misfire code (fortunately one of the front-side cylinders) resolved by replacing the ignition...

Couple more (better) pics in the direct sunlight. It’s a good match on the Ecru.

Seat bottom leather and cushion replacement

Yup - everything tested and working. I missed plugging back in a harness on the drivers side, which impacted the up/down adjustment of the drivers seat, but that was easy to figure out without too much disassembly. Both seats were done. The passenger side leather was still ok, but I went...

Seat bottom leather and cushion replacement

You can see a close up of the orange "stitches" that attach the seat heater to the leather. Basically like those plastic strings that hold a 3 pack of socks together. I just used a razor blade to cut them loose and detach the heater cloth. Here's a side by side of the old leather on the left...

Seat bottom leather and cushion replacement

A few pics and some info on replacing your lower leather and cushion foam. I finished replacing the bottom leather on the front seats in my 2013 with Ecru (125k miles). I ended up going with the usautoseatcover.com leather along with a new OEM cushion. IMO its definitely worth buying a new...

Buying a 460 - Need some help with assumptions

The Base package is coil springs in the rear. I believe that the premium an luxury have the adjustable air suspension (not sure if its 100%). For everything but towing I'd prefer the base/coils to keep it simple, especially if you plan to lift it. But if you are towing anything above 1500#...

Mount propane tank sideways on roofrack?

Not sure about the legality of it. There are 5 and 10# tanks that might be easier to mount vertically, either on the roof, or your swing out/tire carrier. Or you could look into the tanks designed for a horizontal application. They are a bit pricier, but would otherwise fit your needs.

Mount propane tank sideways on roofrack?

My understanding is no - its not safe to transport or use that way with a standard LP tank. You'll likely have liquid propane interacting with the valve, which could create leaks during transport, and liquid instead of gas feeding your appliance during use. I've seen that there are...

    2022 4Runner Suspension Question

The smallest diameter wheel that clears your brakes is the best bet. That's probably a 17", but you should research and make sure.
