I picked up a husky, Home Depo, I’m sure craftsman will be fine too. Air hammers are pretty simple tools. 3000 strikes/min and cut the tip off a punch bit for a blunt end. That did the trick.
Air hammer made this removal 45 seconds per end. $65 and a new tool to add to the arsenal. Done! Rear shock removal and install was a pain in the butt....

Block assembly, junction. I finally got what I needed it took couple tries at the parts counter before we actually got it here in my hands.

Now I see what it is. I thought the studs were the fusible links. Makes way more sense now.
So it's just a junction box? Great! Studs seem fine, but the Dielectric grease seems to have cooked a bit. We'll see once I replace that wire I guess. I'm assuming its just an old wire and that's why it let go... Or would I say hoping.

Attached are pics of what I see. I've never dealt with a fusable link issue before. I obviously need to replace the wire and connectors but do I need to replace the black box also?
