Not knowing your location, is there a cruiser club near you? Head to the clubhouse section and find the closest one and post up about needing help, perhaps someone can take you under their wing. A set of experienced eyes, ears, etc and a helping hand will go a long way.
It was a joke, folks like 85-up because a 5 speed is a direct swap. Other than that, just inconsequential stuff.
Your hope for heaven is Jesus Christ, not karma, but since you lol’d maybe you knew that.
Did the HG blow from overheat or a bad reseal? What are your symptoms? Damage might be...
Lots of possibilities here but since the sound is present in 4hi and low but not in 2hi assume 4wd related: front driveshaft joints, front diff, or t/c front output bearing. Definitely check fluid but you’d probably hear it in 2wd as well if dry.
Thanks, I had found those and from some dealers. Haven’t heard great things about TPD, what’s your opinion ?
I also should have asked if anyone knows an aftermarket usage or substitution?
I am trying to get a rusty box apart to see if it has a usable bearing. Or I have also considered going...
That’s not a Toyota starter but if it was you could rebuild the solenoid contacts yourself. Do you have an auto electrical repair shop in your area? I have one near me that will rebuild starters and alternators, etc. A by-product of a farming community.

Turns out, on assembly 20k ago, I had forgotten to install the gear stop between the input gear and...
Hi all,
Started in on a reseal of a spare steering gear only to find the bearing above the worm gear valve body destroyed. Found this old thread: Bad worm gear bearing - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/bad-worm-gear-bearing.254938/
And the damage is exactly the same as mine.
Local dealer can...
Mine had that color combo too originally, I’ll be looking to go back to original down the road. It seems odd but it grows on you.
Definitely an early model, the choke and rheostat have individual bosses instead of the rectangular cut out.
The way it’s dripping on the leaf spring, frame, and drag link my bet is the leak is at the steering gear box. Pretty common. Have it rebuilt by redhead steering gear or do it your self if you have the tools and time.
Kept this for a swap but I prefer the 60 dash:
Nearly complete Sepia Brown Dash set out of a 1989 FJ62. Metal has some scratches from keys and whatnot and bit of surface rust under the passenger side mount points.
Pad has one roundish crack about the size of a dime near the windshield as...
