Yes the rust is a big deciding point and yes, that is sound advice! I guess that's why I have a cap on the repairs.

Thanks guys, you've given me a lot to think about and consider. I think I'll call around tomorrow for some more quotes and if I do have to replace it I can always sit it on the back burner (which won't cost me anything) till I come up with a solution and maybe later get it back on the road. And...

Right now I'm looking at a Tundra which will be a lot more than repairing the Cruiser but would be much better for towing. If the cost was around $2,500 I'd do it but with $3,000 w/o parts being a low number and not knowing other problems encountered while doing the HG doesn't make a lot of...

I have a Camry too, that's my DD. My Cruiser is only used for off road, hunting and trailing my TT.

If you knew God with a capital "G" there wouldn't be this conversation. But that's okay, He has a special place for you. FYI There are no problems too big or too small that He can't handle.

Okay this sounds a little outragious but when you're looking for a shread of hope and see this, it does make you think anything could be possible. Has anyone seen or tried this or know if this works? It doesn't look like would cost much to try.

Yes, that's another problem which is weighing heavy on my decision. Many years driving on calcium chloride brined roads has led to much rust. I just replaced another brake line last week that was corroded with rust.

Thanks for all the suggestions and support. I do love my truck and have many of the same feelings about it when I get in it but sometimes there is a time to have to say enough is enough. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet and I have the weekend to digest all of the options and with God's...

Well, this could be my last post. Yesterday my head gasket blew on my cruiser and I had to get towed to a service station. Today I talked to someone that does engine work and was given a low estimate without parts of $3,000. The sad part is about 4,000 miles ago I put new tires and a complete...

    Finally!

It took a while especially since this isn't my DD anymore but I finally hit 300,000 miles. It's really past that due to the 33" tires that I been driving on for the last 100k.

Water Leak in Back of Cruiser

I did take a scotch brite pad along with some WD40 and really clean the rear window and door (gate) seal. The carpet in the back seems to be dry now but I will have to keep an eye on it.
