A few years ago I upgraded the alternator on my 60 to the 80A external fan alternator from a 3FE, like so many others here on Mud. Fast-forward to the present and my alternator has failed. I've been trying to replace it and every one that I've ordered have been delivered as the 90A internal fan...
Then I broke out the DA polisher to try to see what I could do for the paint. There's basically no paint left on the roof and very little on the hood so I couldn't do too much. The sides are a little bit better, but a repaint is totally in my future.
Got some shine back in the sides though...
Spent some quality time with the 60 in prep to enlist it in DD duty for a while.
New suspension bushings all around, the old ones were toast and missing in places. Took about 8 hours with hand tools and a floor jack by myself. The ride is so much better now.
Pulled the camper and kids to Sadlers Creek State Park with the 60. Truck was slow but steady, right lane only. But still able to pull at (corrected) 60mph, except for the hills on 85.
We had a good time and stayed surprisingly dry given the hurricane moving through.

I'm excited to try this, but I JUST WANT THE SPICY BISCUIT BACK! Yes, I know that you can technically order one, if you want to wait, OR you happen to be going through ATL airpoirt, but we all deserve spicy goodness first thing in the morning.
Not mine, nor do I know the guy, but thought someone might have a use for some of this stuff... Tacoma Wheels, Roof Top Tent, Bed Bars - auto parts - by owner -...
Installed the Toyota H4 update kit. Super easy, everything is OE quality and you can't beat the price. ~$40 online. Light output is good with the stock bulbs, will run them until they die then upgrade.
Those look amazing. Sorry that I don't have an excuse to use them, but it does make me wonder how hard it would be to do reproductions of other body panels, say lower tailgates?
