Pat,
It is a very pretty place. Just north of Zion, very seldom anyone around. There are Aspens in the area nearing four feet around. I have never seen Aspens that large anywhere else. The Virgin River Rim mountain bike trails starts very close to this area.
While we were there, we...
As stated, every single RV manufacturer uses 10 gauge, and normally have longer runs on all fifth wheels than any trailer built by a private individual. I have a crew cab dually with a 42 foot fifth wheel behind it, still only 10 gauge. Have never had a failure due to wiring.
I have...
Thanks for joining in and the offer is well accepted I am sure. Worked at Edison as a boiler maker apprentice, gave it up due to the drive from the Inland Empire to the ocean every single day. I know our level of ability and our knowledge will be appreciated.
10 gauge is all that is necessary. Ever RV manufacterer uses 10 gauge, no need for more. Isolator is a good idea if you stay in camp for days upon days, or leave the trailer hooked to the tow vehicle, otherwise not necessary. If you can run down your truck battery in less than 4 days you have...
Doing a great job as usual Pat, when are you headed west to do some exploring/camping. Would love to hook up with you in Colorado sometime. We are headed there on the 13th of July, will be there through the end of the month it sounds like, or maybe a week in Moab, not sure. Short notice of...
In honesty, both are right, not much value there, angle iron is about the worst frame material there is other than say wood. You can build a small trailer frame for less than two hundred bucks and have a good base for your project.
2x2 120 wall is far and away strong enough for it and...
Production
I will only build 8 a year at the max, as these are my babies. I have decided not to mass produce the trailer, although I had serious interest from investors and manufacturers.
I want to keep the quality, and do keep them the best off road tear drop out there.
I am not a...
I honestly am not sure of what it is. It is the RV industry standard I am sure of that. It is used on almost all RV coaches and trailers these days. It is not fun working with, as it is fiberglass, and you itch like heck at night. With 1/4 luan and it glued together then glued to 3/8...
I am thinking 23 to 2500. This will have the fox Wing awning, the battery and all the other standard features. I weighed the frame last week, with axle, 35's and flooring it weighed 1040 pounds.
when you say it will be used to carry gravel, how much are you planning on carrying, the 1500pound number mentioned or more.
I would lay some 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 box tubing in this puppy if you really plan to use it. I would go with 2x2 at the cut junciton of the tongue, and yes it needs to be...

Greentruck
We use these in all of our solar micro wave towers. They have been virtually indestructable. Some are in their 12th year, not this specific...
This was designed to be in the face of AT, the owner, Chris Cole and Mario are not friends. It is made excetpionally well and has a lot of options all included in the price. This could be the starting of a war between the two manufacturers. Only the customer will benefit. Great buy if you...
I doubt you need 7 wires, the four should work, the brake and the turn signals are normally the same.
I would wire for brakes if you plan on off roading the trailer, they become important at the worst time.
Also you can google trailer wiring and get all the current set ups step by step.
I just weighed the frame with 35's torsion axle and spare carrier. It weighed in at 1040 pounds. I am guessing the trailer will weigh between 2300 and 2500 complete. This will be heavier than the prototype. Sarge is taking this thing to Alaska, solo so I need to know it will make it without...
