Hey,
It's been a few months since I sold the beast and I sure do miss her. But, the time has come to clean out the garage. I've got lots of spares from another 89 FJ that I stripped, so here's a partial list. Let me know what you need and I'll see if I have it. Mainly, it's body trim...
First off, thanks to all over the years for all the help you've provided. I've owned lots of vehicles that have had large fan bases....60s Mustangs, BMW M3's, BSA motorcycles....heck, even Schwinn Stingray bicycles. But, never have I run across a community like this one that is not just...
Crazy that I've lived with this for as long as I did and this starter switch was the issue. I've replaced EVERYTHING else...haha. Oh well, the person getting my truck will have nothing on the starting system for a while....new alt, starter, battery, cables, posts, everything tight and clean...
Here are a few more pics. I should actually really clean it this weekend and get some good pics. The paint is really nice. None of that peeling off that a lot of them have on the hood. I've also got a garage full of spare parts that I'll be going through after it's gone. I'm going to give...

1989 Toyota Landcruiser FJ62
The only thing that I want to point out to you guys is that it's a rust free rig. Brand new BFG 31" tires, lots of other OEM/new parts, upgraded headlights/harness, sound deadening all over, etc. I'm even including the very expensive...
Yes...check, check, check....down to the "that will leave some wires and the ign switch".
That's what's so frustrating....multiple mechanics all say that everything checks out. This is cruiser mechanics, not just run of the mill guys. Here in Dallas, I've gone through Nguyen, Ben Cahill and...
Yeah, that's what's frustrating. Everything checks out. 12v to starter, battery charging, system working as it should. It's just every once in a while when it won't start.
OK...to add more. If it's this switch/relay going out, I understand that. Last week it got to the point where it did...
Oh...one more thing. Someone please explain how this switch can be causing these symptoms. I think I have a pretty good grasp on electronics and the flow of things, but this stumps me.
So, it won't start when I turn the key. So, I put a charger on the battery and it starts up every time...
If I don't get this issue fixed on my truck, I'm about one craigslist email away from selling my rig. It's the most frustrating thing... I have replaced alternator, starter, checked NSS switch, put new battery, cables, cleaned and checked all grounds and connections....still did it. My...
If you're asking me about Ben Cahill....He has an un advertised shop. I've got his address written down in my truck. I'll ping you with that in the next day or so.

Ben Cahill in Dallas. He's got a shop out in Forney (about 10 miles east of Dallas) and has done some work for me. He's always got about 10-15 cruisers in his shop.
His number is 214-914-3642.

...one more thing....wonder why they didn't fix the rear window? A new regulator from cruiserparts.net is about $50 shipped. It takes all of 30 minutes to install. It's either that or the switches that have gone out. Either way, no biggie to fix/replace.

That's really high on the price. It does look clean, but 200K miles, is still...well...200K miles, and that's when things start to go wrong or need attention. Things like the transmission, knuckle rebuild, 4wd solenoid, etc. They mention AC.....there's a grand at least, depending what's...
It would be nice to have a book or magazine that had restoration pics, tips, etc. I have purchased many for British bikes....Triumphs, BSA's, old Mustangs and even vintage Schwinn bicycles.
But, what sort of market would it be for 60 series LC's? I think someone posted the production, or...
How's this for pulling up an old thread....
I've got a little time today as I was doing a few other things and thought I'd put in my OEM antenna that's been in my garage for over a year. I can't seem to find the plug for the dash switch? Anyone care to point me in the right direction? Where...
Yeah, British motorcycles from the 60s "fixed themselves" as well. What that really means is that the leaking oil would sometimes clog up and stop, only to really blow something out at the most in-opportune time.
