The other option would be detailing clay. Mothers makes a kit that should be available locally for about $12-$15. I'm not particularly fond of using really harsh solvents on my paint so I usually use clay for stuff like this. Just make sure you fold it frequently so if it picks up any hard...
What brand of synthetic are you running?
It seems like a lot of people running Mobil in their 80's prefer the 0W-40. IIRC its because the Mobil synthetics seem to run a little "thin" for their label weight, so people run a little heavier oil.
So what are most of you using for flashlights? Are you upgrading to LED technology?
I've got two Maglites and a Brinkman, but want to get a few more for the vehicles. The Surfire & Arc LED lights look nice, but I'm not sure I can bring myself to drop that kind of cash for a flashlight I won't...
Headliners are tough. Like syrinxstar said, they are super thin, and the adhesive they use on them is about a tough as what they use on a post-it note. Use anything too harsh and it'll start to droop. Definitely don't use an extractor on it.
The best luck I've had is to sparingly spray some...
Lots of light. I currently have 4 - 8' twin bulb high output fluorescent fixtures in my two car garage, and plan on getting more when I get my electrical service upgraded.
My vote on tools... if its going to be heavily used, abused, beat on and generally mistreated, go with Proto. I've never...
Well, I searched this board and the SOR forums so hopefully this question hasn't been beaten to death...
Whats the general opinion on oil coolers, who's using one, and is it a DIY install for an mildly experienced wrencher such as myself?
I'm still shopping for a low mileage 97' with lockers...
If everything checks out, it sounds like a pretty decent deal to me. I've been shopping for an FJZ80 for a couple of months now... so I think I'm up on my prices.
Damn yooper, you're good. Traverse City it is.
Its all relative... I grew up in the Flint area, so anything north of Clare counts as "up north" to us trolls. :P
I've been looking at a lot of 97's in northern Michigan and that would be a great price around here, assuming it is in good condition. A 97 with 116K would probably be running about $15K & up here. Definitely worth a second look.
Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi.
After looking at the small SUV's in my price range $20K (+/-), a 97' TLC is looking better all the time. Never owned a LC before, but a friend of mine drives 93' and it has me hooked. I won't be doing much serious off-roading, just want something that...
