Tacoma Double cab TOYOTA solid axle swap
okay so I am starting a solid axle swap on my double cab Tacoma using a toyota mini truck front axle and a Turbo transfer case mated to the stock 5 speed. I will be tearing out the rack and pinion steering and replacing it with an I.F.S. steering box...
I stand corrected kinda, I just bought a set of new LX wheels for my FZJ and seen I was s***outtaluck when it was time to put the lugs on.... have to wait till monday to pickup *IE* order some new lugs
okay so I did search maybe not using the right keywords but I did find that the LUG nuts for the LX differs from the LC, the LX uses a squared shoulder lug and the LC uses a conical seating nut.......Just saying!;)
you are right about the different computers, but the engines do interchange VERY easily- oil pan and crankshaft position sensor i beleive or something along those lines
I see some threads have been started asking the life of an 80 engine, I was wodering how many miles each of your 80s have on the OD right now (original engines) and MAJOR repairs youve encountered keeping it on the road that long.

Not true, I have ran many electrics while under water (12 volts) its not an issue

Cool Build, what suspension are you running? what was the weight difference in engines? did you have to get a softer spring for the lighter engine?
Now all you need to top that off is a TRD supercharger!!:bounce:
