t6dpilot, glad I could contribute. thetoyotaman makes good points, stuff I didn't know. And that's the beauty of this community, we all learn from and help each other. You have a great rig, man. Keep at it!
Very nice. Cleanest first gen I've seen in a long time. I had an '81 back in the day ... and an '80, and an '84, and an '85 ... sniff. Great memories.
Anyway, the oil on the front and spraying toward the rear of the valve cover is probably the half moon plugs (just below the 22R sticker on...
Hmm, front axle is Toy but the rear axle has "60" cast into the right hand side web, which if I'm not mistaken means it is a Dana 60, not a 44. I have seen narrowed D60s swapped in to 40s before, so that would not surprise me. But why on earth would Toyota go to the trouble of importing front...
Yes, I know it's not a 60 series, that's why I put 80 series in the title (seller made that error). And yes, I know the rear isn't full floating, I can see that in the pics, which is why I asked someone to chime in when FF axles started in the 80 series.

Not mine, but it would be a shame to let this rig go to waste or get parted out. I don't recall when Toy went to full-floating rear axle on 80 series, someone school me, please. In any case, cheap (I think), someone please grab this up!

Jgfuller, Mudders (myself included) can be ... critical, so apologies in advance. Please back your truck out of the garage and shoot some photos in the sunlight, with the sun at your back so we can actually see your rig (navy blue isn't original in '83 as far as I know, but it looks great here...
Wow is right! All the way across the country! So glad it found a good home, esp. in a dryer climate. Robert, hope you get it running and bring us all up to speed on it and your other rig. Great stuff, thanks!
Not mine. I have enough projects, but it's sure tempting. Please save me from myself. Six hunnert bux. Buy it with the intent to flip or part out and the Cruiser gods will command vermin to infest your privates for eternity. Just sayin'.

Jalopnik article is dated 24 Feb 2020. By now the only thing left is the four rubber tires and maybe a brown stain on the pavement where it was parked. If that. LOL, cool tho.
The passenger's side front frame horn isn't bent, it is cracked and has a piece of ... something ... booger welded over the crack at the top of the frame. The crack appears to be open. The tie rods are bent. The front bumper is missing. Front end sheet metal appears askew. Impact damage...
Original paint (looks like it)? If so, curious if there is a paint color code on the tag on the firewall. Could it be Pollux Orange? Oh, boy! Cool rig regardless, GLWS!
Not mine. Looks/sounds like a pretty good buy if you don't mind a SBC, etc. Kinda surprised it hasn't been snapped up already, TBH (2.5K is affordable).
