What I was saying/showing above was: From what I see, the Black Hills Cruiser Classic is a TLCA event - meaning you could take any Toyota 4WD vehicle. Your 4 Runner for example.
The Toyota Land Cruiser Association
The TLCA Community is a rich and vibrant one that brings people together for the love of their Toyotas. TLCA Membership is open to anyone interested in Toyota 4 wheel drive vehicles. This includes all models of Land Cruisers, FJ Cruisers, 4Runners, Lexus GX...
You do you, but this group is sparse enough without fracturing the conversation or the group to another platform. I'd just as soon keep things here on ih8mud and support the community (Wally runs a good system here).
I suspect there are several of us who are not on and have zero interest in FB. So, if you want to plan something more than a few days in advance, post it on the meet up forum here. There are a fair number of us hiding in the woodwork.
It has the power to pull me out of the ether. We have quite a few new to the region folks and it would be good to get something on the calendar.
The where is 100% dependent on how far @solomrus is willing to travel - you're all going to want to see his truck.
I've hosted 3 meet-ups at Mahoney...
So, I went looking around for skinny 35" tires - again. I go looking for options every few years. I like my 35" Duratrac tires in the winter, but they're a bitch to keep balanced and I have lost two to the skinny sidewalls.
Google pulled these out of the ether...
Between 15" of snow with 3' drifts here and working full time from home, I haven't had much need to go out and about.
I'm glad that radiator found a home quickly - though I wish it had worked out to go in my truck. We ordered it then found out we had a 3 month shipping delay on it - which...
I had a strange dream. Toyota USA retired the Land Cruiser from the US market for a year or two. They then brought the quad cab 79 to the US with the Tundra V8 in response to compete with the Jeep Gladiator's success. Then everyone cried as the truck was only available in gas, not diesel and...
Welcome! :flipoff2: (Official IH8MUD salute - no offense intended)
I wish I had time to schedule some sort of gathering.
Where you are in Papillion, you may very well see me passing through sometime. I'm in Papillion on a semi-regular basis. Grey & black FZJ80 on 35s with a swing out spare...
Terrain... Tuttle Creek is the nearest 'terrain'. Otherwise, my normal saying regarding wheeling is, "I live 8 hours from anything interesting." I was with the group that went to Tuttle in 2012.

I went with a much cheaper solution on my built up truck. I have Anker 300A slow blow fuses on the + terminal of each (dual) battery. Yes, the starter loads on my truck pass through fuses. The only time I've blown one is by accidentally crossing the + bus to the ground bus with a wrench -...
Just a thought, but if you're going to consider going that route - is there any reason to not do it with US style keys instead of the funky inverted design-on-the-inside JDM ones?
I.e. same parts but with US style locks and keys so you can buy replacements at any Toyota dealer.
And I forgot the other driver controls over the behavior of the FZJ80 automatic transmission too. The console buttons that are perpetually sticky due to food, debris and that soda some POs kid dumped on it. PWR and 2nd.
PWR changes the shift points higher. More revs before gear change...
Pop into Flatland Cruisers and introduce yourself if you haven't already!
Years ago we did the occasional get together. We should do that again.
If that birf won't pull far enough out to get the snap ring on, even when pulling it (gently) with a bolt stuck in the end of it... you might just...
