I have the 4 cyl (22RE?) and the drop in power after installing the 33's was noticable but not enough to be detrimental. It still rolls fine in the mountains, have to use 4low a bit more on the trails, but other than that the gearing is just fine. Oh, I topped it out today and could only get it...
Revtek makes an awesome 3 in lift for tacomas. I installed one on my 99 x-cab in december and still havent gotten over how cool it is. It actually improves the ride and handling characteristics of the truck and also improves articulation on the trail. I am running 33x12.50s right now with...
So about a week ago I purchased a set of 33x12.50R15 BFG Allterrain TA's for my 99 tacoma. I had them mounted on the factory alloys because of reasons I wont get into here, but that was just a temporary thing, I'm planning on mounting them for good on 15x8 rims. On the current rims they are...
Polyeurathane bushings will improve the articulation and ride of your suspension, so even if your stock bushings are in good condition I would recommend switching out since you will be in there anyway. I think you would be happy with the results.
How about mounting? Is welding the sliders to the frame the only way to do it or has someone gotten creative with angle iron and bolts? I think it would have to be designed differently to take the weight of the truck but it seems possible.
Do you know where it broke? If its behind the firewall you could probably dig around under the dash and get a pair of vice-grips on it. Other than that, I'm not sure. Interesting little problem you got there.
Hey ya'll,
I'm looking to custom fab a set of sliders for my 99 tacoma and I'm looking for some creative, simple, or just downright sick pics of some rock sliders on other tacos out there. Any and all would be appreciated, I'm not as creative as I should be. I've got some basic welding...
I know the industry standard for bigger badder engines in FJ-40's is the 350 smallblock, but i was wondering if it was possible to go bigger, i.e. a 383 stroker (isnt it just a bored and stroked 350?). I am currently planning out a FJ-40 project truck, and I want it to be the baddest thing on...
I would think that wider is better, because the air will be restricted anyway as it flows into the carb. If you reduce the resistance in the snorkle assembly, it will reduce any extra resistance the air will feel before getting to the carb, allowing max airflow to the engine. And we all know...
