Here are some links everyone should look at:
Blue Ribbon Coalition:
https://www.sharetrails.org/
Toyota Land Cruiser Association:
http://tlca.org/
There are many organizations out there people. If you can join some of them or give support it helps keep trails open.

I'd just like to keep this thread going over here on the Land Use forum. Knowing Bill personally, I can really appreciate the passion that he used to write the letter with. I agree with most here that we as individuals do a lot to keep trails open and clean. The bigger problem is that land...
I have not heard of anyone using them on FJ's, but the owner of Rockstomper uses them on the front of his Toyota pickup (http://www.rockstomper.com). He might be able to give you some more info on them.

I have 2 hardtop doors and side panels from a 75-up FJ40 for sale. I put some pics of them here:

I put $100 for everything but I am open to offers. Also, I don't want to ship them and they are located in northern Colorado...
I had to grind the gear. Actually, I had to do it in two places. The second photo where the center pin is I had to grind two of the teeth (actually the shop that installed the gears and lockers did this). Then, on the other side, I had to grind the inside edges of a couple of teeth so that I...
I just put 4.88's in mine and had to grind to get the center pin out. From what I could see, the ring gear was thicker on the 4.88's. Here are before and after pics:
These are the best pics that I have.

I think that it depends on the vehicle. In my 97 4Runner I run Shell Rotella T synthetic and in the LC I use Havoline dino. Since I don't put that many miles on the LC, the cost synthetic is tough to justify. On the 4Runner where I put 20k a year on, it's crazy not to use synthetic. I also...
Hi Guys,
I have a 74 FJ40 with an F engine. I have been trying to find information on the distributor. The plate where the condenser and points sets on says the following:
Delco-Remy
Anderson Ind.
Model - Serial
1112403 1F8
Made in USA
I would appreciate any information that...
I'll throw in another kudos for the Superwinch X9. I have one mounted on the front of my 4Runner and will probably get one for my 40 when it is running again. They aren't the fastest, but it has gotten me out when I needed it.

The 4 rings are standard in the F. Here is the description from the TLC FAQ page:
"The main differences between the F and the 2F are the 2F's larger bore, the F's 2 compression and 2 oil rings versus the 2F's 2 compression and single oil ring..."

Hi Diggler,
I am not the best person to answer this question but I have link to one of the pages at Marks 4wd with transmission and transfer case information. I hope this helps a little:

The FJ that I currently have is from Wyoming and the PO had installed a block heater in it. I am going to remove it because I won't need it where I live. Are you looking for pics or advice for how well they work or...?

Hi, I have a Bestop on mine. I am using soft doors also. It works ok, but I haven't compared it to anything else. It is bit drafty especially driving on the highway. The po set the drivers window on something and the window is hard to see through. But that is the only problem that I have...
I think that this was mentioned before, but Rovers Down South (www.roversdownsouth.com) carries a bunch of parts for the Land Rover Fairey overdrives. You might try contacting them about the Land Cruiser ones. The guy that owns the place is really cool. One of the guys that I wheel with buys...
Hi guys,
This is my first post over here. I have been watching the board for awhile now and have been really impressed with the information here. I have a 74' fj40 and I am having problems getting the third member to come out. I have removed the axle shafts and all of the nuts around the...
