LOL, yes, I know this is a Cruiser site! Just trying to get a national audiance to get this beast moving.....
I posted on PBB and WI4x4 imediately after posting here, thanks though!
This is a no B.S. ad, and I’m a no B.S. kind of guy. You’ll find both GOOD and BAD listed below. This is the culmination of 12years of work on a machine I never thought I’d consider selling. In the past 4 years, I’ve lost the lust of 4 wheeling, and my interests have shifted to other things...
Sorry guys, I keep forgetting to snap a few pix of the install, good friend just had a kid and I've been hanging out at the hospital after work.....I've just requested pix from the wife, so she's gonna snap a few.
Why not weld tabs to the top inside edge of the frame rails. Have your trans crossmember run straight under the body the 4" or so that you'll need for clearance, then dive down to the bottom of the trans at a 45* angle?
If you get a longer pitman arm, you're gonna have more interferance at the spring. A shorter set of arms would still allow full steering without interferance.
What axle are you playing with??
Oh damn, you ARE correct! :o
Shorter highsteer arms would require less throw from the pitman arm.
I ran into this steering arm/pitman arm length issue a few yrs ago while building my junk......had a helluva time getting the assist ram sized correctly.
Shorter pitman arm, longer highsteer arms should solve this.
I can't tell from the pic, but is that a Toyota axle? Are you 100% sure that Toy axle can even steer as far as your pitman arm can swing in the pics?
I ended up holesawing a 2" hole through both frame rails, pushing a 2" x .25" DOM tube through as a crossmember and winch mount. Ran the cable through the fairlead, to the axle/pully and back to the crossmember. Pretty EZ really.
Makes super fast tire removal too. Couple tall stands under the...
I looking for some ideas as to where/how to mount a winch into my rear 4 link. You guys have any links or pics that might offer some insperation??
I've got a Warn RT-25 to do the task, just gotta figure out how to rig it up.
I get what yer sayin, Hank. Not sure I wanna do that tho.
I added a little stinger, and grill hoop. Planning to tie the fenders to the grill hoop.
Progress pix.......
What do you guys thing of adding the taped on tube (and it's twin to the otherside) to the mix? Think...
I was trying stock springs, since I didn't want/need any lift.
I have a Rusty's suspension book around here somewhere with all the spring rates listed......... I'll look for it.........
