Badlands Apex 12k / Harbor Freight

FYI: Harbor Freight has the “No Exclusions” 25% off coupon in effect through the 19th. I picked up an Apex 12k winch for $525 out the door.

What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Could’ve just bought a new one from the dealership. More than likely it is cheaper than the time and paint you put into it…

    Time For New Tires

I love the old BFG KM’s. But sadly, BFGoodrich doesn’t make them anymore. When it’s time to replace mine, I’m probably going with BFG A/T’s. I’ve been using them on my 80 series for years, and they’ve been through the ringer and kept going. I may go as far as saying “I’ll never use anything...

    Brake Booster Advice

100%! My booster followed this path. The check valve was working as it should. I replaced the whole unit Monday, and now it’s working as it should.

    FJ40 1972 Horn Issues

The “should sound” assumes the kit was installed correctly. If it doesn’t, those items are a possibility.

    Dakota VS. Real Gauges

FWIW: I looked into this doing this. Below is the response from DD: “In order to change the VHX system you have to another design with board changes we would be looking at 4-8 hours ($75 per hour plus shipping) for the design changes and engineer work for the RPM gauge. If this is something...

    FJ40 1972 Horn Issues

Yes. Tapping the yellow wire to your column or steering wheel should sound the horn. It completes the circuit.

    FJ40 1972 Horn Issues

Tap that yellow wire to the inside of the steering wheel. The horn should sound. If not, you don’t have 12v to the horn or you have a ground issue. To me, it looks like that button does not create a closed circuit without having a ground wire. I see no way it makes contact with the steering...

    My TLC experience

This is exactly what I did with mine. Perfect spot. It’s out of the way and removable with Velcro.

What was the application for this?

What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Cheeeeeeeaaaaap “A/C“. Threw on some “seat covers” that pump air. These things circulate air to your rear end and back. They work better than I than I thought they would. Easy to install for summer days, and removed for colder seasons (if you wish).

Roof rack for Rooftop Tent on 40….

Assuming the ‘not’ was a mistype, I wouldn’t put a RTT on a 40 either. If you’ve lifted your 40, even more so. I do have one for my 80, but it’s only on top when I’m going to use it. I personally wouldn’t DD a rig with a RTT.
